[solved] TT One XL: NC9.510 + fastactivate = ".dct error"

Thu Oct 10, 2013 10:28 pm

Hi

After reading a lot of topic on this forum, I try to upgrade my old TT One XL ... but at the end I get a message from FastActivate saying that i have a ".dct error" :/

my actions :
1/ I removed all files from it, except the ttgo.bif. Run Tomtom Home to be sure to be up to date.
2/ I installed the 32Mb version of the navcore 9.510 (again, thank you for that Downunder35m !)
3/ I copied my map : Europe_1GB_West_915_5106 (meta is available)
4/ I restart my TT, got the message "You Cannot use this map on this GPS Europe 1GB West-822"
5/ I plugged it back. Shutdown tomtom Home and launch FastActivate (from 2/10), updated meta file and click on "Patch voice, map...", and this is what i got :

"Europe_1GB_West-822.meta => .dct ERROR"

full log:

..:: FastActivate 02/10/2013 ::..

So .. Could someone tell me where I can findthis mysterious .dct file ? There's none of it on my TT One XL

(btw the forum doesn't allow a search of 3 char .. not really easy to look for "dct" error ;) )

1. On behalf of Navitotal, I owe you an apology. The meta, that was posted with Europe_1GB_West_915_5106, is actually the meta for Europe_West_915_5106. There is not a meta for the 1GB version.
May I suggest you use Western Europe 1GB 915.5106.
Western_Europe_1GB_915_5106 [1162MB ] OR
Western_Europe_1GB_915_5106 with Automatic Installer & Patcher
; Western_Europe_1GB v915.5106
7E 87 8E 2F A2 3A 75 D0 02 E4 D2 9E 80 CB B1 12 Western_Europe_1GB-822.meta

2. FastActivate option 2 patches the map by creating the required .meta.dct file.

Great ! Thank you a lot for this fast answer.
I was losing my mind on that one ;)

Now I just have to find a SD card or another small map that could go on my ONE XL (the one that you suggest is too large to fit on the internal memory.)

(Last question : how can I set the [Solved] information in front of the thread ?)

1. This is a "no brainer". Get a 2GB SD card or upgrade your bootloader to 5.5012 or higher, to use any size SDHC card that you wish.
2. It is for MODs only. Just ask when you are ready.

Thank you for the answer !

1. I found topic and tutorials to upgrade navecore and maps .. but nothing for the bootloader. Could you give me a hint / link to do that ?
2. We'll wait a little more ;)

**Update of the topic**

I finally bought a 8Gb SD Card and update my ONE XL with the bootloader 5.5259 from tendriver :

GetMy-CFG v2.53
===============

DeviceID=XYZ
DeviceVersionHW=ONE XL
DeviceSerialNumber=XYZ

ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9510
BootLoaderVersion=55259
CurrentMap=
CurrentMapVersion=0.0

Even with that card, i can't make it work, I try somethings with the sd, but i had to make a hard reset (20sec on reset + 5 sec on start) and know, it looks like it's bricked !

Steps:
1/ I remove everything from the SD and the internal memory except the ttgo.bif file on both.
2/ When I try to boot the One XL without the SD I get this :
(no loading bar, it looks like it's frozen on that ..)
6062

and when I try to boot with the sd this one (it's a simple animation asking me te remove the SD card ..) :
6063
If I remove it, it ask me to put it back in ...

Do you know how I can restore my one XL ?
What does the second message mean ? (the one asking me to remove my SD card)

Confirm that you are putting a full setup [navcore & map] on the internal & a full setup [navcore & map] on your new SDHC card.

Only one file on both (ttgo.bif).

I'll copy the map directory (but it can't be install on the internal memory, too small).
For navcore, which additionnals files should i take ?

I just installed a legal map with tomtom home, but my one XL still freezes with the 1st picture I posted above ...

And if I stay on the on/off button for more than 5sec I get this screen :
6066

1. OK.
2. Copy everything, that was on the internal, except the old map folder, to the new SDHC card. Copy the new map folder to the new card. Put FastActivate.exe on the new card & run options 2 & 3 to patch the navcore & new map, if you have not already done so. Done. Give it a go..

We can run around in circles all day long,
and that is what we have to do if you don't provide full infos and follow instructions.
Do what you like, play around as much as you like, but if you want help I suggest to try our way....
