Map USA_Canada_925.5412 activation problem (solved)

Thu May 08, 2014 12:19 pm

I've done clean install on my TT Go910: installed Navcore 9.510 and map USA_Canada_1GB_925.5439
Activated with latest FastActivate with no problem.
Couple of days later I decided to add new map: USA_Canada_925.5412.
Copied folder with map on my device and tried to activate with FastActivate.
It was ".dct error" and .dct file was not generated.
I decided to try activate map with Albert's EasyActivator 6.15 (23/03/13): http://www.navitotal.com/noref.php?url=http://www9.zippyshare.com/v/97955161/file.html
It is very good program, but still no success.
Debug showed me, that no meta.txt file exist for my map. And it was surprise, because I knew that meta file already exists.
I ckecked latest inttegrated-meta.txt, which I get after FastActivate renewed it and found string with my meta:
21 8F 2D 26 0C 41 E4 F1 1A DF 5A 3B A6 B7 USA_Canada-877.meta ; USA_Canada 925_5412
So, meta was OK.
The problem was with my map: USA_Canada_925.5412. Two files caused problem: usa_canada.pna & usa_canada-877.meta
They are case sensitive. Please, be sure, that they have the same case as in meta: USA_Canada.pna & USA_Canada-877.meta
That's why both activators didn't work. After, I renamed these 2 files, everything was OK and my map was activated.

If you activate with Albert's EasyActivator 6.15 (23/03/13) don't forget to rename "integrated-meta.txt" into "meta. txt" and put it in the root of your device.

1. OK
2. If you are saying that the usa_canada.pna & usa_canada-877.meta files in the downloaded USA_Canada_925.5412 map were lower case, then I need the exact link to this map. These 2 files are never lower case!!
3.The pna file is not used in the map patching process, so it's case sensitivity is not an issue for this process. The meta file is case sensitive.
4. Actually USA_Canada-877.meta was the only file that required renaming.

Albert's EasyActivator 6.15 has it's own meta.txt feature, so this is not necessary.

I tried to download 925.5412 map from Navitotal, but without having premium account it was too slow.
So, I decided to download the map from XXXXXX: [Please Register or Login to download file] .
Link name - [ TOWN ]-[ [Please Register or Login to download file] ]-[ partner of [Please Register or Login to download file] ]-[ 0DAY | APPS ] [01/28] - "TomTom.Maps.of.USA.Canada.925.5412.Retail-NAViGON.par2" - 2,06 GB yEnc.
Maybe they used different meta.txt, not the one that we use on Navitotal. That's why it was incompatibility.
I never seen the explanation about the case sensitivity, so I decided to post it. Maybe it would be useful for somebody.

1. Use JDownloader. Start the download before you go nite-nite. It will be completed when you arise!!
2. BIG mistake. We do not support maps downloaded from elsewhere for quality control reasons. Your issue is a perfect example of why!!! Consider it a LESSON LEARNED!!
3. No, somebody had edited those 2 files that you found.
4. There is no explanation because @ Navitotal, we try very hard to have everything of ours correctly formatted & is in the correct case.
