map for tomtom XL 30 and install help

Hi Everyone. I am a newbie at this and was wondering if someone can help with map installations. In particular, I need a relatively new USA map. BUt as this is my first map install, I am sort of unfamilar on where to start. I know that I may need to update my navcore, fastactivate etc...?? but it also seems that the websites that have the maps are bogus...clicking on the map link seems to take you to unrelated sites etc...

Perhaps someone can help with step by step procedure for a USA map(legit working links), navcore install to get mine working

You're going to have to do some of the work yourself so start by reading the Map Compatibility Chart tutorial

It would be handy if you'd familiarise yourself with some of the elements needed for getting a new map on your XL.
You can start by reading some previous topics that deal with the same thing. Then you'd also know what information you need to give so that you can be helped. There are no con men here. Just take a look a history and you can see who is ligit.

I'd say that there's little or none bogus information on this site but you do need to be a little streetwise to make use of the hosting sites .

Otherwise, updating your TT is pretty easy in over 95% of cases.
