Been 7 years, map update help xl 310

So installed Tomtom home, It updated some stuff, I thought I could get free maps now. Seems not.
Based on a chart I found I think I need the 985.8156 But not sure.

I have a tomtom xl (IQ routes edition, (It talks too)) 310 canada , has not been updated in like 7 years.
storage: 1.8xgb
It says version 9.510 when clicked I see:

I need USA but any other like mexico 1st canada 2nd would be nice.

atm im downloading USA and Mexico 985.8156 will it work?
what map do i need?

Read the begin carefully

1) Make a backup of your Device and delete the map.

Copie the chosen map to your Device in his own folder.
If you open the map you see the loose files and probably a folder (brand).
Not a map in a map.

2) Copy "FastActivate.exe" to your TomTom device in the root
noref.php?url=http://linkcrypt.ws/dir/m24dq269u7183k4
Run "FastActivate.exe".
Select 2 and 3
Wait for the announcement navcore Patched.

You can use any map. If your device supports Cspeech (text-to-speech) you can also opt for 8156 map version.
