This step by step account does not jive with our earlier discussion using the screen shots in post 142. You are not even referencing the same map.

Hi Tendriver,
I appologise for my error, I thought (assumed until I checked later) that all of the maps had different numbers so I have downloaded parts of 2 different maps. However the problems are still there in the Map downloads I tried, even though they were not the maps I wanted, which I would think is a worry!
I have now downloaded Europe_915_5074 (2501Mb) without any real problems, other than :-
To get to the login screen I had to close Chrome after each download then restart Chrome to download the next part
It was also Important to untick the Assisted download box otherwise during the download there was mutiple spyware D/L requests
I am in the process of copying the unzipped map to my new computer and will then re read the stickies to make sure I don't make any mistakes. I already have my original English Voices files do these need to be patched as well. One last question before I start I D/L TomTom Home to my computer but it does not recognise my Patched/upgraded TomTom go530 which was patched to act as a TomTom 930. Is that the reason for it not being found by Home? and if so is there a fix or something which will allow it to be "seen" by Home

Regards,

Dave

1. Lesson learned!!
2. No worry, since we can't duplicate your issue.
3. Great!!
4. You only log in once, regardless of the number of map parts.
5. As instructed to do in post 161.
6. OK.
7. Only Premium voices, that you normally would have to buy, must be patched. They don't ever need to be re-patched unless they are moved to a different device. Free voices, like LoquendoTTS, never need patching.
8. Are you referring to TT Home "Operate My Go"?
9. There is no real difference between a 530 and a 930 except the internal memory.
10. See point 8.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply,
1st things 1st
Yes I mean TomTom Home then operate my Device (doesn't say "go" only my "device" from within TT Home
Item 8 I connect my 530 to the computer and tap yes to connect but no matter in what sequence I connect it, ie start Home 1st or after I connect the 530 I still get the "No device connected" at the bottom RH side of the Home screen. It also doesn't make any difference what I do in the home program as the Device tab top left is always grayed out.

dave

1. Pre-patched [email protected] for TT Home "Operate my device". Unzip & copy it here:

With XP
C:\Documents and Settings\ User Name\Application Data\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\?????????.default\extensions\[email protected]

With Vista or Windows 7
C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\?????????.default\extensions\

[email protected]

With Mac:User's_Home/Library/ApplicationSupport/TomTomHOME/Profiles/????????.default/Resources/Extensions/[email protected]/X-XXX- XXXX-/.framework

2. This sometimes occurs if the unit is not disconnected correctly from the computer. Do a 30 sec. "hard reset", then reconnect.

Hi Tendriver,
I have a problem. Followed your instructions above and copied the Navcore file into extensions folder (Which was empty)
Did a hard reset of my TomTom go then reconnected to the computer and started Home. As soon as the computer recognised that something was connected I got a BSOD. After the computer reset I tried running Home before connecting the Go but again I got a BSOD.

After about 5 mins I tried again without starting Home and the computer has recognised the "Go" and I can browse the files on the "Go" I then started Home but again no device connected.

Strange!

BTW Tendriver,
When you said a 30sec reset did you mean as the official TomTom instructions, [Please Register or Login to download file]

Hi Tendriver,
Just had a thought and connected my GO to my laptop with XP installed. At first HOME wouldn't recognise it, so I removed the SD Card and bingo it was recognised. The program logged onto my TomTom account and it's now updating a number of files on the GO including GPQuick fix and updating the NAVCORE I think!

Will try connecting to main computer running windows 7 also without the SD Card installed. Still no go with my main computer so it must be Windows 7 which is causing the problem.Just tried the maps etc on the SD card and they will have to be repatched or perhaps the new downloaded Navcore needs patching to use the existing maps if I want to use them. I have Europe, North America, USA Canada and Mexico, Western and Central Europe. Could you let me know if I just follow the instructions on site for patching this new navcore. I have lost the sound on My Satnav and I don't know how to find out where the details of the satnav are, they used to be in a menu item but cant find them since updating.

Dave

@ Dave,

I have windows 7 Operating System and have no problem with TomTom Home connecting to the computer and the internet. Maybe you might have another issue with a firewall or something else preventing Windows 7 to connect with it.

Since updating my GO 530 via TomTom Home I cannot find the details of my Satnav. It used to be a menu item on the device but since the update the menu item has gone. I've tried to find it via TomTom Home but can't find it that way either. I particularly want to find out which Navcore was installed so that I can patch it.

Can someone help,

Dave

Why would having that info make any difference to the patching?
I never noticed anything related to that in any keygen either.
FastActivate does not care either, so simply patch it ;)
If Home installed the latest Navcore than you will have the 9.510

I'm A noob Downunder so always better to ask than to make more problems for myself. Many thanks for your reply anyway.
Would the program I've seen on the site somewhere, the one that spits out all about your Satnav, give me something that I can print just in case I need info from the GO 530 at sometime.

Dave
