All Maps 910.XXXX

biscuitman wrote:I understand that but I have no backup of my old maps, licenses etc. The built in backup on tomtom home completely bricked the device. I've only just been able to get it to operate up until the 'no maps installed' screen.

I thought the automatic install was just a case of opening the exe, pointing the program to the tomtom device and clicking install. I might need a bit of clarification if possible.

Thanks

Read a tutorial on how to install a map.

Just having a read through Downunder35m's tutorial in the tutorial section. I'll give it another go with the manual method instead of the automatic version.

He says to put the map in the root so I imagine I can just put this folder "United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_910_4892" straight into d:/ without worrying about the "maps" folder within tomtom?

Thanks again

Ran fast activator, patched the 1,2 and 3. Copied the maps into the root directory and then ran fast activator again (1.2 and 3) and the tomtom still says "No Maps Found"

Any ideas?

Cheers

Maps are Navcore specific, not device specific!! Run TomTom Current Configuration {13.11.2011} Post the results here.

for tendriver.
The map in question is the Central_Europe 910.4892.
I tried it with other maps but I always give the same result.

Thanks tendriver.

Would my best option to be to install "Navcore 9.485 for most devices" and then try again with the maps or use a map that is for my boot loader version? I am trying to learn here but it seems like a steep learning curve with many different configurations. Any help on the subject is greatly appreciated. I don't want to be spoon fed, just a point in the right direction. There are thousands of threads with thousands of variables and because my satnav is quite old I'm finding it hard to keep up.

Also, I'm looking at the compatability chart and I can't find version 8083 in the navcore section. There is one that is close 803X but non that start 808.

Thanks again

I just checked this download & don't see any problem. Did you uncheck "Download with Download Manager" before you tried to download Part 1?

1. While you are learning, keep it simple. Keep 8083 & update the map with UK&ROI 910.4952. Download & unzip the map. Replace any map folders currently on the device with the 4952 map folder. Patch map & navcore with FastActivate.
Disconnect & reboot. Done!! When you feel comfortable, we'll take the next step up.
2. Bootloader version has nothing to do with map selection.
3. This is covered in point 1.
4. Device age is not a major factor. 32MB RAM Memory + internal & external storage memory are major factors.
5. Read the info in the "yellow box" at the bottom of the 910 compatability chart, & you will see that 8.083 is covered!!

Europe meta 910.4973 is a FAKE.
Is the same as Western Europe 910.4973.

Navitotal does not have a Europe 910.4973 meta code posted in either of our 910 threads.
I also looked in a few of the best Activator's up-to-date meta.txt files & did not find a Europe 910.4973 meta code in any of them.
