How about by following the instruction provided ;)
There is a nice chart in the map thread that will tell you what maps can be used on a certain Navcore.

Thanks downunder. I've read may folders and threads and as u suggested to one poster with same device as me (http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?9472-Old-TT-One-New-edition-which-recent-navcore-and-maps-will-work), I've downloaded some files needed for upgrading to NC 9.205. and for middle east map, I've downloaded 880.3823 since 890, 891 and 895 maps for middle east, no meta yet. I hope it's compatible since I couldn't find compatibility chart for ver 880.xxx.

now my question is what I should do first, updating NC or installing map? any suggestion or pointing to the specific post will be much appreciated.

Thanks again.

Downunder, I think I've read them all and found out post which similar to my case (http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?9472-Old-TT-One-New-edition-which-recent-navcore-and-maps-will-work). as u suggested, I download NC 9.205 (SE_Navcore.9.205.547817_32mb_devices) but my original SD said it's full. so I tried using the new 16GB SD.

after I instal NC, the I instal middle east map 880.3823 (Middle East 880.3823_Installer.exe). But after finished installing, when I tried inserted SD into my tomtom one and turned it on, my device didn't recognize it (picture of crossed SD on the screen).

Did I do something wrong? Thanks for your help.

if U have read all the tutorials carefully U should have patched all systems before U install the new map. NAVCORE,TTSYSTEM, TTHOME etc. if NOT it will never work.

To have a working map you must patch your 'ttsystem file' & 'map'
You have several Keygens to choose from, We recommend FastActivate 1.8

It does not really matter if you do maps or NC first, you can even do the maps while they are still on the PC as you only need a ttgo.bif and FastActivate.
The red cross means the NC is not installed correctly or files are missing.
If your bootloader is 5.5112 or higher you won't have a problem with big SD cards.
