Problem with UK & ROI map on ONE XL (v9)

Tue Jul 31, 2012 12:48 pm

Hi,
I have downloded "United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_890_4222 with Automatic Installer & Patcher (Popeye)" after installing it i have executed "FastActivate_05.07.2012_Premium_edition_v1.8. 8.9"
When i try to turn tomtom on the main screen comes with read flashing cross.

I have folder called "[email protected]" on root of my device that means i have navcore 9.026.

Any ideas?

If you do not have a ttgo.bak file, the data in the ttgo.bif is correct. Delete the ttgo.ori file, reboot & repost the ttgo.bif file.

The "][email protected] folder does not mean you have navcore 9.026, it only means that you have, on root of your device, the folder required to use TT Home "Operate my Device" with a device that does have 9.026.

Ok. Always update your ttgo.bak file when you update your navcore and/or map.
Delete the ttgo.bak & ttgo.ori file. Reboot to create a freah ttgo.bif file & post it. We'll create a new .bak when we get through.

Alert!! Never post you device's Serial # or Unique ID!! They have been edited out of post 3.

Although there are some 9.026 files on your unit, the new unmanipulated .bif file sez you have navcore 8010, which is not compatible with a 4222 map. This pairing will give you a read flashing cross at bootup.

well in that case can you suggest a navcore that is best for my device and i will install that navcore.

Thanks

Did you make a backup of your setup, before you started upgrading your unit?

Tue Jul 31, 2012 7:22 pm

Well it was sort of messed up any way so no i do not have complete backup :naughty:

Since you already have some 9.026 files, I would reinstall it & patch it with FastActivate 1.8.8.9

I have just updated to Navcore 9.170 SE and everything works perfectly.

Two questions
1) now i only see 2-pane status bar, is there a way to go back to 3-pane status bar?
2) is there batter (then 9.170 SE) NC available for my device?

Great!!

1. Possibily. I've not seen or heard of a 9.170 version. Where did you find it? I'll DL it and give you an answer.
2. There are newer but not necessarily better. You would gain little or nothing upping. I would stick with the functioning 9.170.

Open the root in Windows explorer. Left click on the Config folder. Left click on setconfig.txt. Change model:x40light to model:x40. Disconnect & reboot.

Perfect that works like charm now.

One more question :wallbash:

i have attached a jpg file which displays content of folder called "Outsourced.9026" which i dont need any more how do i delete that folder?

I have tried with windows explorer and command line but it does not work as you can see folder that is inside contains weird name that windows can not read and on Linux the tomtom becomes read only device.

Thank you.
