TT one 3rd edition, map trouble

Sat Jun 02, 2012 2:26 am

Ok, first post, so I hope I'm not being a total noob...

I have a TomTom one, 3rd edition, with a navcore 8.010

I downloaded the United States map, 885.4094, automatic version. I ran the exe, and it did stuff to my TT. Initially, it said there wasn't enough room, so I deleted the old map folder ("USA_and_Canada" for me), and tried again. This time, no errors. I went to reboot the device... nothing. It shows the boot splash, but that's it. it never makes it into the actual nav system. I tried deleting "currentmap.dat" and "currentlocation.dat" to no avail.

Anything I did wrong?

update: I still can't use the device, but I have patched everything, using fastactivate, and I'm now able to "use the device" in tomtom Home. There, everything works, and I've even gotten all the mapshare updates, and it says my map is up to date.

Home does not help to solve any problems it only simulates.
If the NC is no longer working I assume you deleted more than the map folder.
Have you ried a hard reset followed by the TT clear flash?
If in doubt delete all from the device and do a clean install of NC and map.

reinstalled from a backup, everything worked.
Deleted map folder, installed new map, device worked, asked which map I wanted to use, wouldn't let me use the new map.
Patched everything with fastactivate premium, and it works now!

Thanks for everything, guys'n'gals

ETA: I also got all of my favorites back through the tutorial. awesome stuff, thnx again!
