How to install current maps - ONE V6

I am a newbie so please be easy on me.

Can you please point or give a step by step directions and or links to install the current USA Canada maps for my TomTom ONE V6

If you have only 1gb internal memory available leave the navcore (8.016) and bootloader (5.5022) as it is.
First make a full back-up of your device .
Download map United_States_940.5993 topic16464.html (the one with meta available, not the 1gb version)
Download latest Fastactivate. general-discussions-about-tomtom-f81/fastactivate-latest-update-2014-now-includes-version-updater-tool-t14003.html

Delete your current map USA_and_Canada_8302321
copy the downloaded map to your device
Run Fastactivate. First update meta.txt (option 1), than patch maps (option 2) and last patch navcore (option 3)
That's it.

Note: This is only a USA map. Maps of USA and Canada with meta suitable for a 1gb device are not available yet. Only this one: Northern_US_and_Canada 940.5995

I have another TomTom which came with lifetime map update so when I connected this old Tomtom ONE it updated to a "newer map" version 835.2423 which is better than 830.2321 but still old (Tomtom say there 20 updates after 835.2423)

Because a 835 map is only 3 month newer than a 830. And they are both more than 5 years old.

This map opnly works for you if you have more than 1gb memory available. Can you use a SD-card and if not, how big is your internal memory?

Can you please tell me how do I extract and share the meta (of course with out giving out any personal info)

When I go to purchase maps, Tomtom Home is asking me to buy this map USA & Canada 940.5995 - 1010MB but I wonder if it will fit device. However no meta is available for it here. I need USA and Canada so I guess I will have to wait.

The whole map doesn't fit anymore on a 1gb device
If you buy the original map by TomTom Home you can choose which part you want to install. Eastern USA & Canada, Western USA & Canada or Northern USA & Canada. You can change map any time you want using TTHome.

For the creative updater there's only one meta available, that's for the Northern USA & Canada 940.5995. The map is only about 450mb so it should fit.

Another option is the USA & Canada 1gb 925.5439 without original file poi.dat. If you delete the file poi.dat, you can't navigate to an original TomTom poi but the map is much newer then yours.
