All New Maps 890/891.xxxx

Postby Razorblatter » Thu Jul 19, 2012 6:16 pm

2. Okay, so I can add the meta info for a given card into a meta.txt file in the root of my TomTom.
3. What I mean is that the 890-maps are not automatically patched anymore provided that the built-in FastActivate does not have the specific meta. I would have to use the new(er) FastActivate 1.8.8.9 additionaly.
5. Correction: FA v1.8.8.9 can activate most recent maps provided that the meta has been built-in.
Because the built-in meta data are more recent than in older FA versions.
FA can use Meta.txt files in the root of the TT which contain newer data and so activate maps.
6. See point 2.

Thanks you for your quick reply !

2. Correct.
3. Put a created meta.txt file with the needed meta code in the device or SD card root BEFORE installing a map using Automatic Installer & Patcher.
5. A. B. C.
A. Correct.
B. Correct.
C. ANY version of FA can use Meta.txt files, which contain newer data, in the root of the TT or SD card and so activate maps.
6. Correct.

Curious as to why meta info is taking so long to post these days? Did TomTom change something? Are people buying less maps these days for Tomtom?

I know that to keep this site going means you have to use these filehosting sites but they are awful! and i refuse to pay their prices to download files, is there not anywhere else these files can be hosted? Took me 1 hr to download a 200mb file and i'm on a 50mbit connection because of the crappy speed limits they put on the free accounts. Very frustrated that i now have 1 of 7 files, only going to take 7 hrs lol
Can nobody not upload these files to newsgroups? would only take me seconds to download then :)

It never ceases to amaze me, that new members complain about FREE downloads & make suggestions without bothering to see if their suggestion has already been discussed.
We didn't just start doing this yesterday. Trust me, we have looked at every option there is, including torrents & for one reason or other, none are acceptable.
We appreciate your suggestions, but if you had taken the time to do a topic search, you would have found pages of posts on this subject.

Bottom line: Search & read before you post.

ok great :)

maps uploaded so far:

Central_Europe_890_4222 - 1.39gb
4530

United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_890_4222 - 217mb
4529

Western_Europe_1GB_890_4234
4538

Europe_890.4221 - 2.95gb
4537

Iberia_890_4237 - 277mb
4559

For those who don't know what a NZB file is its pretty much the same as a magnet link or torrent file, when executed with the appropriate program installed i.e. usenet client it will download all files that are logged within it. Chances are if you have newsgroups and use them you will know exactly what it is :)

Soon as i get hold of any others i will do the same, hope people will find it useful. Extra option for people to download if they have usenet access.
