i have since got rid of my workbench for now (loveable and trusted tomtom one v2?v3? not sure lol) gave it to m8 running nc 8.4? think with western central europe 885 4009 i think my memory fails me quite a bit these days.
anyhoo i digress.
i have since got myself a TomTom XXL IQ routes edition
running nc 9.4300
os 842337
boot 5.5279
map europe north 885 4009
patched with latest map postcode and speedcam
will add voices at weekend maybe lol

also a TomTom Go live 750
nc 9.430
os 842337
boot 5.5277
map united kingdom and ireland 880 3810
not patched or anything (she still a virgin)

what im getting at is will doing anything to the 750 kill it?
i really like it and its a novelty having an untouched tomtom =) but grudge map prices =( and like to tinker with things.
is there a way to do something with the live? ie:crack it to get it free?
if so what map would be best for UK?
what can i also do with the XXL?
love to learn and love gadgets and playing with them so all help is much appreciated thanx

1. Not if you use our Mods for guidance.
2. Load a complete navcore & map package on a SDHC card, & you won't have to touch the internal setup.
3. You can change navcores & maps like you can on any other unit.
4. 885.4009 The 890 map edition will be out in the next few days.
5. Other than adding Europe fuel prices, not much.

Never thought about putting the NC onto micro sd card with the maps.
Will try out truck maps again see how good they are.

have tried to install map on SDHC card with no joy (Europe 895.4438)
also installed nc 9.465 on card but still no joy =(
do you have any pointers or am i missing something very silly?

Put the 4438 map, a copy of your 750's ttgo.bif file & FastActivate Premium 1.8.9.0 Updated 29.10.2012 on the SDHC card. Run the FA map patcher only.
Patch 9.465, if you haven't already done so.

right since found out after a lot of testing and swearing that the sdhc i bought is corrupt =(
quick email to seller and sit back for the long wait oh hang on reply within 10 mins. not a problem and a very nice appology telling me that a new card will be sent out to me tomorrow morning =)

hi i am still having problems with the go 750 live =(
had a spare 2gb sdhc sitting so put map onto it with ttgo.bif file from the g0 750 and put FA on it and ran it. it patched the map but the unit says this map not suported with the red screen.
have tried doing it all from scratch with card in unit and with card out of unit in a card reader but still get same response.
am i just missing something silly or do you think i have another problem?

Confirm that the 9.465 navcore is actually patched.

From the start
Instal nav core 9.465 onto sdhc
Add ttgo.bif from unit to sdhc
Patch nav core
Install map on sdhc
Add FA and patch map
Is this right?

7. If you patch the internal navcore, you have defeated the whole purpose of using a SDHC card!!
