The map is not compatible with your navcore.

Have a good look at the map compatibility chart before downloading anything.
Maps are navcore specific....not device specific

Hello! Completely new to this, I hope I'm posting in the right place.

I have an old TomTom One 3rd Edition, 512 mb. It currently has Australia maps on it. I would like to change them to US maps. Here is my info:

TTGO.BIF:

Further to my previous post... after a bit of sleuthing, I believe the following map will work on my navcore (and fit within the size restriction).

Western_US_and_Canada v945.6243

If this is correct, and if I download the automatic installer and patcher, will I be able to just extract and run the contents and it will magically work with my GPS? I'm looking to bring this to the US in a couple days and I really thought this was my US GPS but it turns out it's my Australian one (which I no longer use).

If I'm totally and completely off the mark here, please let me know!

Yes, you are correct although there are newer maps than v945 available

The latest map and the equivalent to the one you mentioned would be Western_US_and_Canada_955_6801 so I would go for that one IF it's small enough to fit = 473mb?

Thanks, fredderf! I wish I had been a little more patient, as I've now exceeded the download limit and have to wait for the timer to reset. I successfully got part 1 of the "old" map but now - of course - I want the newer ones!

That's ok - I've got one more full day before I leave. With your advice I am confident I can get the required files, make them work, and breathe new life into this old guy again.

Of course, I'm also a little worried that it can't find a GPS signal even on its original maps. I hope it's just because I'm inside the apartment. I'm not about to go standing out in the freezing cold to search for a signal. Brr!
