Yes, that would be the way to go.
You are installing the map into its own folder e.g. x:\Europe_South?

As tendriver indicated, the last version is 960.
Be aware of the fact that since the maps are growing with each version you will have to take into account that storage space is very limited. Not even every '1 gb' map will fit onto your 1 gb device.

It won't fit. Western Europe 1GB 950 6544 [1187MB] There is not a WE 1GB map in the 9XX series that will fit.

Sorry, but I did not see the above posts.

I deleted Europe map and installed a France V950.6493 (413MB, archive) and put in the meta code, but during the installation every file had the error: "CRC failed in encrypted file, wrong password?", and at the end: "some installed files are corrupt, download fresh copy." At first I thought the error message was invalid since the installation continued, but something went wrong. So am back to not having any map.
Would you let me know why there were error messages in this map? The meta was:
5D 90 BB 6A 02 4B 47 88 E8 FD 30 E9 27 4D 7A A9
tendriver, the France map suffices, and it would be quicker than waiting for the large Western Europe, so are there any instructions to make this work?
Thank you for your patience and support.

In the topic map collections 960, download 'my' zippyshare Europe_South.
It's pretty hassle free and quick.

Your error message probably originates from your archive program and seems to indicate a corrupted archive file.

The meta code is not important when copying the map but of course you need to have a valid one to activate the map. But of course a current version of FastActivate takes care of that.

1. Why did you install a France 950 map, which is 2 Editions out of date, when there are usable 960 versions?
2. FastActivate.exe doesn't like it, when you put in a meta code, that is already in it's Integrated Meta.txt file.
Suggestion: Do a manual install by unzipping the map on your desktop, copy it to your device & patch it with F/A option 2.

OK, finally downloaded the V960, but when trying to unzip on desktop, it asks for meta code.

As per the instructions above, how do I unzip without code on desktop (if I install on TT where FA is perhaps I don't need the code?)?

You must be doing something wrong or fail to understand how it all works.
A zip file does not need a meta code for unpacking!
And the passwords for our files can be found in the posting containing the download - or in some cases in the signature of the uploader.

Right, I'm sorry if my terminology is incorrect. I just put in password for part one (installer part1.exe) (out of three) and opened well on desktop--which I'm copying to TT. The two other parts (rar), I receive "unable to lload thumbnails for spanned zip files", so I will try dragging them to TT and then running FA option 2. Sounds OK? :023:

Exactly what map did you download & exactly what thread did you download it from??

Sounds OK? NO, it doesn't work that way. When you unzip Part 1 of a .rar file, ALL of the other parts are automatically unzipped to give you a completely unzipped file/folder.

960.7055 from" all new maps 960". There were 3 parts, 1 installer exe and the other 2 rar and when unzipped it became TAASE.exe. So drag this to my new map folder?

Create a folder on your desktop. Name it anything.
Right click on Part 1.
Click on "Run as Admin".
Accept the agreement.
Direct the installation to the created folder.
Install. Password = Navitotal.
When complete, open the created folder. You should have a France 960.7055 folder inside.
Copy this folder to your device.
Run F/A options 1 & 2.
Check for the .meta.dct file in the French map folder. If there, disconnect & reboot.

could be a problem with my trial winzip since it is asking for a password I do not have, so will download an older version to see if it opens rar.

I have part one map already installed with 458 MB and the meta dect file, but when run TT "no map found" I still do not have the 2 other files of rar. According to the above, they did nit seem needed.

1. a 7055 map requires navcore 8.2XX or higher. Yours is ???
2. Just exactly follow the instructions in post 26 & all files will be taken care of.
