Hello,
I've a Tomtom XL with Navcore 9.510 and I've tried several maps x.8819, x.8763, x.8766 and x.8767 but always get the message that can't use the map.
I'm downloading maps with Automatic Installer & Patcher, the previous working map was the Iberia 975.7748.
Any advise of what map shall I use or this Tomtom is too old for the v1005 maps?

DeviceName=TomTom XL
DeviceVersionHW=ONE XL (V9)
DeviceSerialNumber=RVxxx
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9510
ApplicationVersion=1234792.1

Thank you

@barts It's probably the meta is not avilable. Navcore version is OK but the automatic installer/patcher cannot patch/install if the meta code is not available.
You can try with FastActivate.exe, or look around the forum if there is a meta code posted. Better to try a different map still.

Look at the Chart
viewtopic.php?f=80&t=19485
And always first look of the meta code for the map is availble if not downloading is a waist of time.
viewtopic.php?f=180&t=20460
And make use of the latest FastAktivate.

Thank you for the hint, you were right there was a problem with the activation.

Using the latest FastActivate fixed the issue, now I can use the latest map.

Two questions:

1. is it possible to give the file size on this page, so that I can see at forehand if it fits on my 1 resp. 2 GB oldie device?

2. sowe downloads have 3 or even 5 parts, where there is much overlap of the files in them. Why is this? It takes lots more time to download..... :013:

1. Yes, click here...btw, you have a 1GB device not a 2GB
2. There is no overlap, you will need to download all parts of each particular map

Before you download anything, you should read the tutorial

1 - I've installed the Europe South 1005.8819 and it took about 1GB
2 - The number of parts is related to the map size, you can always install only a "zone" if you have space issues in your device (you can Google for tomtom map zone for more information about the zones.

Thanks, great this page with file sizes....!

I discovered, when I extracted Part 1, 2 and 3, from the second one Part, files already existed in a,o, West Europe Map. So there is really overlap.

Well: I cannot find a map including Germany that is less than 1 GB (my oldie only has 970 MB) AND for which is also a meta code. Benelux works nice, but would like to have Germany & France too..... For example: I downloaded DE_AT_CH_1005_8819 --- 338.33 MB, which fits together with Benelux, but there is no meta code. So I cannot use it.

Solution?

I very much doubt there is an overlap but you should PM the map uploader if you have a problem

You have 970MB of free space?

Possible solution:
Benelux 1005_8819 --- 78.62 MB
DE_AT_CH 1005_8763 --- 427.41 MB
France 1005_8763 --- 451.07 MB or France 1005_8766 --- 427.92 MB

Holyhead's solution below is better :p

Then you can use

French 1005_8766 451 MB
BNL 1005_8819 91 MB
DACH_North_1005_8763 237 MB Germany

Total approx 779 MB

I don,t belive that there is a overlap.

Only an idea because I don,t know which part of Germany is been covered.

DACH_East_1005_8763 313 MB 302 MB Germany/Austria/Switzerland/Liechtenstein
DACH_North_1005_8763 237 MB 221 MB Germany
DACH_South_1005_8763 336 MB 322 MB Germany/Austria/Switzerland/Liechtenstein
DACH_West_1005_8763 302 MB 288 MB Germany/Austria/Switzerland/Liechtenstein
The second row is without the Cspeech files

Thanks. 2,35 MB left.... And it works all! Great.

Can I remove Cspeech from the French map without damage?
Or can I miss other components to save a bit memory for favourites?

Pity that this are 3 not coupled maps (Benelux, Fr, Ge). Swiss, west part of Aus and roughly the old BRD are covered (not Berlin). I think there is no better alternative with map fitting in this tiny oldie?

Would NC 9.5 improve something relative to 9.057 now?

2,5 MB is very low in practise you need between 5 till 10 MB.
You can remove the cspeech files.
9.5 is bigger so keep 9.057

Great, 56 MB left now. So I can upgrade to 9.5 What is the advantage of 9.5? IS there a link what's new?
