I downloaded country maps in these versions whose meta code is known and it works. The problem for France is that the sale is blocked by Tomtom and the meta code can not be found. (function available in FastActivate).
I copied all the meta codes found on the internet into a Excel ile using the CSV mode. I was able to extract all the cards whose available code is compatible with the device (Navcore 8.083)
Tomtom will just want us to throw our devices in the trash for new ones instead of giving us access to EXISTING MAPS.
(Simply look this post maps-v1xxx/tomtom-v1025-map-collection-t21099.html)
Sincerely yours.

I have seen that post hundreds of times but I think you don't have a clue what you talking about.

You said that your bootloader is 5.5136 so that should mean that you can use a higher navcore
and then you
can try the map France 1025_9386 or 1025_9389.

So the last hint read very carefully

http://www.navitotal.com/viewtopic.php?f=80&t=19485

If updating the bootloader is not possible or something goes,s wrong then you
have bricked the one
and that is the end.

hello,

huho. okay. I understand better now.

Holyhead has already asked you both which version of bootloaders (not navcores) you have installed:

Sorry, took me some time to figure out. Mine is A1.0103 clist#323018

cheers

We only have French meta codes for higher navcores so the only way you're going to get France 1025.8386 running is to upgrade your navcore

As Holyhead said, your bootloader should be capable of a higher navcore if you want to try it

You said you have bootloader 5.5136 (I said you don,t have a clue)
But know you said bootloader 1.0103 (what I expected)

So it is simpel you can,t update this bootloader that means there are on the moment no maps
availble for your one. Over and out.

For Holyhead

This two writers. For me bootloader version is well 5.5136. 1.0103 is bootloader version of Thomasv

For Freddeferf

I do not say anything. I am very familiar with the operation of the compatibility tables. There are also posts on the interchangeability of meta codes for map versions of the same color and I have often used this principle.
When I speak of refusal of sales by Tomtom, it is what emerges from my experience and the statement like this one. The Iberia 1025.9390 map is available, I downloaded it and patched it. It works perfectly on the Tomtom One 30 Series without changing the Navcore. The origin of meta codes is also exposed here. [Please Register or Login to download file]
So by blocking the purchase of cards in some areas Tomtom also blocks the ability to install cards with reduced coverage compared to the original card of the device.
This device is not mine. I am trying to troubleshoot a friend who has never done any update and has the cartography France 900.4608.
If it is possible to install a more recent map, it will be good. I will not risk damaging his device without first experimenting with manipulation.

Or do you have a user manual that guarantees the update of the Navcore?

Me, I do not have a Tomtom device but a a Navman F10 and Mio C510 cracked with Igo 8.3 skin Bidru (I'm an old partner of mioskins). The updates are so simple compared to a Tomtom GPS ... finding the files is not too difficult, and then simply copy / paste the desired countries, and it's over!

I wish you a good day to both of you.

It's no surprise there has been some confusion in this thread. You hi-jacked thomasv's thread, started talking about TomTom blocking the sale of certain maps in France, and then ignored Holyhead's questions when he tried to help you...not only is that impolite but it's not very helpful either.

If you're right & TomTom is blocking the sales of maps in some areas, we know nothing about it and we can do nothing about it. If you want to vent your frustrations towards somebody then you're talking to the wrong people. All we can do is to give you access to the maps, the meta codes that other members have donated from across the community and some support...all at no cost.

The last France map that we have a meta code for and is compatible with your friends navcore is France 970.7490. That map is 3 years old now so it's highly unlikely anyone still has it available...and even if they did, it's so old that it's not going to be a lot of use as the roads/speed limits/signs will have changed a lot in that time.

The only option is to upgrade the navcore so you can install the very latest France 1025.9386 map which also includes the more advanced features. Over the years we've helped many many other members do the same thing quite successfully however you won't proceed without a user manual or a guarantee which for obvious reasons we can't give.

We've already wasted a lot of time on you, so your support ends right here...good luck with it.

Sorry for all of the confusion...obviously some people are rude & hi-jack somebody else's thread and then start to be a PITA

As I said before, usually we'd suggest upgrading the navcore but TomTom had problems with these particular devices so they had to release some of them with a specially made bootloader & navcore which makes that problematic. Sadly, as Holyhead has already mentioned above...being as you've got that 1.0103 bootloader, you have one of those devices that can't be upgraded I'm afraid.

Very good day to you, Gentlemen !

I'm jumping in this thread since I also have a Tomtom One 30 series, and am desperate to update it.

The device infos are as follow:
PBxxxxxxxxxx serial number, => TomTom ONE 30 Series with (internal) 1GB memory
Bootloader S5.5011
Navcore 8.010
Current map: Europe_1GB_west 870.3417

What am I to expect ? To install reasonably recent maps, do I have to go all the way and update the Bootloader (to which version ?), then the Navcore (again, version ?), and finally find a map without all the fancy features that will fit in its ridiculously small 1 Gb internal memory (Europe_1GB_west 1025.9432 ?)
Or am I stuck with 3 years old maps, like version 970 if the Bootloader and the Navcore cannot be upgraded on this model ?

Thanks in advance for your thoughtfull advices !

You should read the tutorial so you'll get a better understanding of what you're talking about:

topic19485.html

The modern equivalents of your old '1GB' map are now too big to fit on your device/and we have no meta codes for them anyway...so forget that

Maybe an up to date France only map will suit you? Will it fit and do we have a meta code for it...yes & yes

Will you need to upgrade the bootloader and navcore if you want to use this France map...no & yes (NC 9.541)

Maybe you want more than just the France map and wonder if there any other alternatives...yes possibly, look at Poteo_Roke's document:
