Hi Bernie,
Thanks for that. I checked the site and downloaded what should be 2022.Q4, however its password protected. Also looks like its for Android device instead of Windows CE platform.
Cheers

Those are TomTom package files for use with TomTom navigators.
They are the wrong format for iGO, it uses the .fbl extension for it's maps.
As far as I know .fbl extension maps work with both WinCE and Android versions of iGO.

There is no password protection on the two I downloaded to have a look at, Oceania & Aus-NZ.

EDIT: yes there is, lol, the Aus-NZ file I can view the contents but not extract without the password, there's no password on the Oceania file.

That's correct, there is no password required when you download, but if you try to unrar it that's when it asks for a password. That being the case it can't be used.

The Oceania file unrars without a password, but the aus-nz file does not.
It doesn't really matter anyway as any of the files on that site are not for the iGO that you use, they are for TomTom devices/software only.

please excuse my ignorance but I was under the impression that the map files used in the TomTom devices were very similar as the map files in the IGO devices.
I have previously used TomTom files in my IGO navigator program on my WinCE device.
have a look at the navitotal thread on topic22855.html
It is thr reason I believe files are very similar.

Hi Bernie,
You are correct, TomTom DO sell maps to NNG for use with iGO software, and they almost certainly use the same data as the maps they supply for their own devices, BUT the iGO versions are compiled in a different programming language in much the same way Apple software cannot be read by a PC.
Nice try though...

At one time you could run the TomTom software (or a form of it) on the same GPS as the iGo, Garmin too, as long as it was WinCE based. Also switch between them easily. In the end I found iGo was much better, as it was possible to run various mods, skins, etc. One thing I do miss from TomTom was the range of available voices (Clint Eastwood, Billy Connolly, etc.). Garmin had very good Topo maps, also you could use OpenStreetmaps.

Hi Bondy99
may I suggest you see if it is possible to use some of the "Here" files of 2022Q4 and insert them into the right folders in 2021 TomTom release.
in the past some TomTom files successfully updated "Here" folder when the here release was slow.
the files from earlier TomTom and here releases look eerily similar.
