Garmin Language Guide

Postby Thom25 » Wed Aug 13, 2025 11:08 am

Hello,

I'm looking for the latest version of the "Garmin Language Guide" or the "Garmin Travel Guide" for my Garmin Nüvi 1200 GPS.
I can't find any information on the Garmin website.

The application folder would be "LEX_PKG".
There would be a full version and a 30-day trial lite version.

I would like the full version.

Thanks for your help.

I'm having trouble getting this language guide install on my Garmin Nuvi gps. It originally came with the Demo version so after downloading this full version, I deleted the files in the Garmin's LEX_PKG folder and replaced them with the files from the full version (along with the generated key for my unit). However when I turned on the GPS unit I still get the message that it is the Demo version and what's worst, all the lines in the language guide are blank. Any idea of what I'm doing wrong?

One thing I'm not sure is where does the D046800.unl file go? Does it go inside the LEX_PKG folder or somewhere else?
Are there any other files I should delete too in order for this to work?
Can this be installed in the SD card instead of the main memory?

I made backups of the original files in the LEX_PKG folder so I can restore those if needed too.
Thanks.

Delete the Demo LEX_PKG folder and then extract and copy the one you downloaded above
The D046800.unl you made the unlock code with Jet mouse goes in the Garmin folder

I think my issue is with jetmouse: I'm using the lower menu where you can select "Garmin Language Guide" Under "Select Map Product" but it seems that every code I've generated doesn't work. I've even downloaded Jetmouse v1.5 but still all the codes generated fail.

Make a copy of your garmindevice.xml and put it into My [Please Register or Login to download file] and I'll make it for you, I used it last week on a nuvi 2350

Thank you for all the help, but unfortunately it didn't work, I still get the message that it is the Demo version and when I click on any of the links, they come out blank.

Another thing I noticed was that in both the language guide uploaded to this post and the one you sent me, the "lex_pkg.ver" file has a bunch of giberish whereas the original "lex_pkg.ver" that came with the demo file had a legible line of text as follows "Garmin Language Guide sample version 2.00"

Maybe the language guide file you have is corrupted somehow?
Another thing I should mention is that I've also tried out the procedure on another unit, a Garmin Nuvi 1450 and the results are the same. Also both of these units were updated recently, so maybe there's something there?

OK seems to be a known issue on your nuvi 7x5 since 2009
Not working in US/EU nuvi7x5 with fw v4.00>

Check your PM.

Ah ok, well I guess that explains why this wasn't working.

Still thanks for all the help.
