IMPORTANT TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Installation and setup
Please note that since iPod touch and iPad (WiFi only) do not have built-in GPS-receivers, an external GPS-receiver is required. Only those receivers are compatible, which are officially supported by Apple. Due to the size of the package and certain In-App items, we recommend purchasing and downloading the application, In-App items or updates through WiFi or fixed line Internet access via the iTunes software installed on a personal computer.

Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Background navigation has to be turned on while using the application; you can do this under "Settings / Advanced settings" in iOS 7.
The maps are part of the application, no roaming fees: no need for cellular network coverage, no surprises. (Some Services – e.g. Live Traffic – require mobile Internet connection. Your operator may charge you for the data used and costs may be significantly higher when used abroad. To avoid unwanted roaming costs being generated abroad by the Live Traffic Service or other services requiring Internet connection (where applicable), please carefully review your settings in the Config Wizard or turn off „Data Roaming” on your device.)

Map updates are subject to availability and may come as part of software updates. End User License Agreement conditions apply.

Can you use other .fbl maps with this version on iOS? Like just download them from this forum and put them in the folders with iFunbox?
The maps that come with iGO Primo 2.5.5 are more then a year old :(

Yes.

Thanks for the quick reply.
One other question that might save me a lot of work.. do you need to keep the exact same file name(s) as the original .fbl files?

Example; map for Netherlands is now called "Netherlands.fbl" in the app. The file you download from "iGO TomTom 2014.Q2 (2014.06) Europa FULL" is called "Netherlands_83_TomTom_2014.06_140908.fbl"
Would it work if i just delete the original and copy the downloaded file or do i need to rename the downloaded file to match the original first?

Bonus question ;)

What are the differences between "iGO TomTom 2014.Q2 (2014.06) Europa FULL" and "iGO HERE 2014.Q2 Map Europe"?
Will both work and if so which one is the best and why?
Thanks for your time.

Stay with iGO Tomtom maps for Europe. HERE maps were previously called Navteq. The important thing in naming maps is the .fbl extension. What ever they're called make sure they end in .fbl.

Ok thanks for the reply.

I also posted this question in the iGO TomTom 2014.Q2 (2014.06) Europa FULL thread but it think it fits (better) here.

When i copy the downloaded files to the folders the app starts without errors but once loaded there's just black where the map should be.

Before trying again I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it from scratch.
When i rename the files to match the original file names exactly and then copy them into the folders i get an "Map initialization fault. Can't open the map files with this license" and then again a black screen where the map should be.

Reading the other thread it seemed to me like replacing the original files with the one from the thread would be all there is to it... obviously iGo Primo 2.5.5 does not agree with this. What am i doing wrong?
Any insight on what to do would be greatly appreciated.

This sounds like a license problem. Where did you get the program and can you link us to it?
