Well, what a mystery with one of my devices.

I managed to get it working, lock onto satellites and load map, I don't know how I managed, I was tired and mentally fatigued from the issues it caused, for some bizarre reason it now reckons I have SirfStar III chip. I'm not going to do anymore tinkering with it. it works; that's the main thing. According to my understanding it supposed to be or have GL2 chip.

However, the other XXL540 is still problematic, still won't lock onto satellite so it can load map, yet it can see satellites. Still the same message on that one "Waiting for Valid GPS Signal"

What I need is a copy of a working emphen folder from a a different tomtom device that could work, don't know if it will work until it's been tried.
