right thanks mate. You won't believe it, but now i've got a new problem. The tomtom takes a very long time to pick satellites, but when it does, it tends to lose some of them. I just recently had replaced its battery due to charging problem...just thinking if i may have done something and if there is a remedy?

1. What navcore & map have you got loaded, that is working for you? Where is it loaded, internal or card?
2. I replaced the battery on a 720 a few weeks ago. There was nothing in the process that would cause a problem, except not getting the copper colored ribbon strip completely reseated in it's latch.

Apologies for the delay in reply. I have just checked and have the following info on the working tomtom with the old software:-

app v8.002
map v805.1801
gps v1.21
boot 5.5250

I never put anything on external card, all the stuff is on the tomtom internal memory.

I'm happy with this navcore, so the only thing i wanna do is update to the latest maps, cameras and postcode.
