Upgraded navcore and tthome

Postby Attila7 » Tue Jul 19, 2011 4:39 pm

I have a go 730, I upgraded the navcore to ver 9.051 and I like the new look. When I try to connect to tthome for map corections, poi downloads, voices, backgrounds etc.. I get a message that says an error occured: fileerror/filemoveerror/2152857621:.....

Is there a work around to allow an upgraded navcore to connect to tthome?

Disconnect your 730 & reboot it. Close TT Home & restart it. Reconnect your 730 to TT Home.

I tried closing the error window but I still cannot use home. I checked the ttgo.bif file and it already shows lines 9 and 10 as you suggested, I renamed it anyways as per your instructions and rebooted. I then tried home and it still didn't work, I checked the files and I only have ttgo.bak and ttgo.mir. The 9.051 navcore I used was from a thread titled best navcore for x30 by bmwdriver, could that be the issue?

It sounds more like a problem with the rights in Windows or that your Home installation is corrupt.
Try to completely uninstall Home and download the latest version.
Check if your files on the TT are not set to read only.

I had not seen this error message before. Post 3 was the result of a quick search. Since then, I have had a chance to do a little deeper search, so if post 3 doesn't solve your problem, then my search finding concur with Downunder's recommendation to re-install TT Home.

Thanks guys, you were right about tthome being the issue. I tried it on my travel netbook and everything worked fine. Updates, another voice and background all came thru fine. Updating did knock out the map, it says that NA 2 gb 870.3406 is not the right map for my device, I will consult the charts again.

NA 2GB 870.3406 IS the right map for your 730. Are you getting this message on your device or in TT Home "Operate my GO"?

I am getting a message on the go 730 that says

"Problem with map You cannot use this map on this device: North_America_2GB-335"

I tried running fast activate 1.8 again but that didn't help either? Perhaps I should delete and reinstall the map?

You have to patch the Navcore and activate the map in order to get it working.
Run FastActivate again and press the the first 3 buttons from the left.

If the map was already patched & this has been confirmed by locating the North_America_2GB-335.meta & North_America_2GB-335.meta.dct files in the map folder, then follow Downunder's instructions to re-run FastActivate Premium & patch the navcore, using the ttystem/PNDNavigator button.

Both of the files exist in the North_America_2GB_870_3406 folder, I did run fast activate earlier, repeated it again as per downunder, then tried a hard reset, repeated fast activate again, got the same error message after each step?

OK, then the navcore is not patched. Is your currently installed navcore still 9.051?

The 9.051 navcore .cab downloaded directly from TomTom is 23MB. bmwdriver's version is 150MB+. It is so bloated with extra stuff that your 730 doesn't need, that we don't even try to support it. I suggest you PM bmwdriver for help.
BTW, I upgrade the navcore on a X20 by copying the new navcore .cab files over the top of the existing navcore, overwriting any common files. Then I add a pre-patched ttsystem file & I'm done.

That could very well be the problem. Perhaps I should go to a regular navcore rather than a custom build. I do like the new menus, which navcore would you suggest for my Go730? I don't know what the differance is between the various navcores, I am assuming features?
