I thank you in advance.

cordially

I understand that someone has removed some of the tutorials, I didn't know that, sorry

In the first place your Navcore is way far out of date
Install Navcore 9.510 for 32mb devices to make it possible to use the latest maps 995 version, mine is running very well with this Navcore
I don't know where you like to drive and use your device, to get the most countries of Europe install
Europe Central 995 8507
Iberia 995 8507
UK & IR 995 8507
Get Fastactivate to patch maps, speedcams, voices and whatever who need a patch

The most easy way is, make an empty folder on your PC and fiil the folder with the files from above, but start first to copy your ttgo.bif file to that folder too
Mind you with the map folder, no spaces or fancy characters are allowed in the name, neither it's allowed to put it into a subfolder
Read the help file in which come with Fastactivate.

Start Fastactivate and use the following options
#9 to get sure the latest version
#1 to update the updated_meta.txt file
#2 to patch everything who need a patch

When you're using a SE Navcore version, no patch of the Navcore is needed, but when you're using an original, you've to ptach it too
When all actions end with an OK, than it's time to copy the whole contents to your empty device, there is no need to remove ttgo.bif, just overwrite it.

When all is working on your devcice get QuickGPSfix 4.0 put it into the folder ephem, start it and your device will find the satellites more quickly

Anymore questions, don't hesitate, just ask.

Goodluck.

Ok for the navcore:

This one is good?
Download: NC 9.510installer1.1.exe
viewtopic.php?f=124&t=12862

Then, for the map, I download this one:

France 995.8549_Installer.part1.exe
France 995.8549_Installer.part2.rar

Is that right?

It is in downloading ...

For FastActivate? I have already recovered it.
For QuickGPSFix Ver 4.00, I just downloaded it.

I have saved the file ttgo.bif in my pc.
Question, what other file is extremely important to back up in case?

Thank you for your help

None is more or less realy important, ttgo.bif wil be wrtitten everytime when its no longer there or when you change your settings
The Navcore you mention is, as far as I understand an Installer, I think you'll get more than one, make you right choice for the 32mb version
When you only like to drive in France, get France 995 8507, the 8507 maps are these maps with all features inside, watch the compatible chart, please
But when you install the option I wrote, France and almost 17 other countries are available

I'm going to be boring lol (French requires  )
What a link for the 32mb version (it's not to crash and be on).

PS: Ok for the table.

Once the navcore retrieve, the map, Fastactivate and update, QuickGPSfix 4.0.

The procedure below is good for the installation?

- Backup contents Tomtom XL.

- Install the Navcore on my TT.

- Installation of the map with the installer.

- Start Fastactivate and use the following options:
# 9 to make sure that the latest version
# 1 to update the updated_meta.txt file
# 2 to fix anything that needs a patch

- Installation QuickGPSfix 4.0.
- Restart the TT.
- Testing

PS: By cons when should I delete all the contents of my TomTom XL ?

Just to add to what pe1agp has already told you....

He advised you to download either Europe Central 995.8507 or France 995.8507 which is good advice, you really should follow it because...

You're wasting your time downloading France 995.8549 because it doesn't have a meta code released yet which means it can't be activated.
Only maps that have a meta code released on this page can be activated.

To understand the process and what the different map numbers/features mean, I highly recommend reading the tutorial

If you want to thank a member, use the 'thumbs up' button next to the 'quote' button over there -->

I followed the procedure to the letter. However, I get three errors:

Here's the new betting information via TomTom XL => FastActivate:

This board requires you to be registered and logged-in to view hidden content.

1) In tomtom HOME software (last update taken on the official website), there is no "Operate My TomTom" or "Operate My Go propose". Maybe it has to be called differently?

2) In FastActivate, in the 4 Patch section "TomTom HOME", it shows me:
"TomTom HOME Profile DLL Not Found"

3) As soon as I turn on my ALL, he tells me map not found ??? (Yes I copied the map at the root of my TT)

As mentioned in the didactitiel, it is the DLL (profile) that I miss.

Do you have an idea ?

I thank you in advance.

cordially

P.S: For parts 1, 2, 3, all are applied as planned and without error.

With navcore 8.010 you can,t use France 995.8549 becourse there is no meta code for it.
Advice was France 995.8507 but then you need navcore 9510.

So start again and only via the forum I don,t work with PM

Backup the XL

1) Use NavCore 9.510_DSA_For 32Mb_ram_Voice+UK and unpack it (winrar o.i.d)
[Please Register or Login to download file]
and place the files and folders on the XL.
2) Reset the device (at least 15 sec) and then run it till the notice "No map found"
3) Use France 995.8507
noref.php?url=http://relink.to/f/0c470ad579cdaddaa814932b0cedf4
Unpack it and
Copy the new map to the XL in its own folder. You can remove the Cspeech file from the map.
When you open the map you see the individual files.
Not a map in a map.
4) Copy "FastActivate.exe" to your SD Card root.
Run "FastActivate.exe".
Select 2
viewtopic.php?f=127&t=19452
5) Reset the device (at least 15 sec)
Done

We like to hear the result good or bad.

You're still using the wrong Navcore
Forget TomTom Home for this moment.

Start as I wrote before with an empty folder on your pc, direct working to your device take to much time to copy all the files via the USB
It's more easy to patch everything and than copy all over to your device, while copy you may have a cup of coffee too
Put in that folder

1 Navccore 9.510 for 32mb devices
2 your ttgo.bif file from your device
3 Latest Fastactivate
4 Map of you choice, any from the 995 8507 version with a valid meta code available

Now use the options in Fastactivate, #9, #1, #2, done

When all went into the right direction you may consider to patch TomTom Home too, but it's sure NOT realy necessary, only when you like to control your device via Home
Share updates are no problem wioth patching.

By the way, the old original Navcore of your device need a patch first before you're able to use one of our maps
But that one is from the stone ages, just get rid of it.

The only Navccore of which the tutorial is speaking is the one that is generated with TomTom HOME and not a file to be copied in TT XL, as quoted below in part,4, 5 :

Hidden text: ON
[Please Register or Login to download file]

4) Run TomTom Home. Depending on your model, if Home asks you whether to use internal memory or the card, select the card.

5) Go to updates and download the latest navcore. Restart TomTom Home and run updates several times until no more updates are available.

OK here we go.

1 hour later...

I followed the holyhead tutorial, and everything worked fine.
The map is activated:
France_995_8507

Thanks to you for your help pe1agp and all your advice.

Champagne :003:

On the other hand, I look when I go somewhere, which shows me:
IQ route disabled.

I would have forgotten something ???

Hidden text: ON
[Please Register or Login to download file]

One last question.
For future update. I will have to wait:
- Updated Navcore Cherry,
- The map,
- and meta code find.

That's it ?

The little french
