Please could anybody help?

I am experimenting with tomtom one v2 for a friend. I have installed (downunder35m's) 8.398 optimised for 32mb. models truck navcore with map 885.4056 . Everything works fine, however, fuel prices option is missing from services, and I am unable to get vocalizer tts working, its silent even though selected.

It was optimised to use LoquendoTTS voices (V6.5) not Vocalizer.
Can't tell you much about the fuel prices as I can't use them in my area, but you need the files for it and activate them.
If it still is unavailable than it might be a limitation that I was not aware of.

I found another 32mb version of 8.398. everything runs smoothly. I am able to get Vocalizer working perfectly but yet again there is no services in preferences. also I noticed you dont get a screen to choose vehicle preference when the device starts.

Is there a .meta.dct & a .tmeta.dct file in the map folder?

There is meta. txt file
There is no .meta.dct file

The map is not patched.

The map is is patched according to fast activate. Plus I am to run a demo. I still cant see services in preferences. although the speed cams warnings are working.

Would I be able to modify Switchfiles or try X40light emulation to be able to see services in preference menu?

Do you know how to choose/change vehicle preference?

1. The map is not patched according to tendriver. No meta.dct & tmeta.dct = map not patched.

Sorry wasn't questioning your judgement. Ive got every thing working smoothly on 32mb version of 8.398. Map, fuel prices and speed cams patched. TomTom services is showing in preferences. Vocalizer working perfectly.

The only little snag is every time I switch on the device I am not given the option to choose vehicle preference. Do you know how to choose/change vehicle preference?

Usually over the menu, if the option is not there than you can't change it.
Other possibility is that you don't use a truck map or the truck features are not activated.

I have an activated truck map. I receive the option if I take the card out for a wile. but not when I first turn the device on.

The setting stay active the way you last selected them.
I guess TT does not see the need to ask for it at every start.
Do you get the option after you pressed the reset button?
If so it might only be a matter of disabling the sleep mode.
