[Discussion] Truck Navcore 9.700/9.701 and current map

Postby NoelC » Sat Jan 26, 2013 10:57 pm

I've installed the navcore and truck map as shown below on my Go 930T and it works great, thanks for doing this. I drive a bus (double deck) from time to time and being able to set the vehicle type is really useful. Setting the height at 14' 6" was no problem following the advice in this thread.

If you are comparing Downunder's 8.398 & his 9.700, he tweaked the 9.700 a bit more than the 8.398.

9.700 is an official navcore for the GO X20 & X30. You would have gotten the same results, except for Downunder's extra additions, by using the 9.700.cab.

I second that and try to clear things up a bit:
For all directly compatible devices, like the X20 and X30 series in this case you only need my version, if you need a different emulation.
E.g: Some people just like the look of the X50 better.
Except for old 32mb devices and the X10/XL series the normal SE Navcore( if available) will perform in the same way.
For me the main reason was to provide new Navcore to devices that are otherwise left out.
But these days you just have to have the versions complete for all models ;)

you're right in your assumption, I only use downunders navcores on my 32mb devices.

Added some info on how to "fix" the status bar in the download thread.

Hi, just downloaded and installed 9.7 navcore on my go 730 (nice installer!) without hitch. However, when I try to change map to the latest truck map I get the message "Problem with map, you cannot use this map on this device: Europe_TRUCK-704".
I've run the latest fastactivator with no success.
Please help!
Thanks.

The NC is patched, so your problem should be quite obvious.
If no .dct was created, the map is not activated ;)

Thanks for the rapid response!
Please be patient with me, I'm a noob!
When i use fastactivate to create the .dct it does it for the map on the tomtom unit, not the truck map on the sd card.
How can I do this for the truck map?

I'VE SUSSED IT!
I had to copy the ttgo.bif file from my 730 to the root of the sd card, then fastactivate was able to do it's stuff!
Many thanks downunder35m for pointing me in the right direction. :)

Just tried NC 9.700 on TT go 710, runs for me ideal, in advantage to NC 9.400 in mp3 folder just put some music and TT Jukebox started to work, no problems with maps 900.4602, only TT Home 2 don't support "manage my go", but it's another question.

You don't really need that function ;)

Hi,

Just to say that I made a clean install of this NC and tested specific truck routing on known destinations with restrictions...

Some rumors and threads mention that this NC isn't appropriate and doesn't take all truck restrictions into account.

On my side I couldn't find any routing error, so I can only state that it seems to be working.

Here is my config:
DeviceVersionHW=GO 730
BootLoaderVersion=55279
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9700
ApplicationVersion=1133776.1
CurrentMap=Europe_TRUCK
CurrentMapVersion=901.4683

Any other opinion?
