Just tried it at home with go 530 and gps v1.20 boot 5.5120 map 895 448, nice and easy to get it up and running. At first whilst setting the truck sizes i couldn't get the exact length/width/height as in 14' 3" or 14 foot 3 inches. After a little play i set height to 14 (or whatever height you want) the press "done" then press "back" then touch light part of screen it will then show 14' then touch light part of screen then press 3 and press "done". Then press back and it will show as 14' 3".
Do the same for other measurements and that should work ok.
I state this is a first test done at home and not on the road.
I also think its a bloody good piece of software and easy to use.
Big congrats to the people involved cos it is looking good so far.
Hope this little input helps.

I can try to sum up what is happening so far:
On X20/X30 devices no problems at all (630 no feedback yet), you use the patched standard NC or the version in my installer.
Some X40 report problem with the live services, but I assume that is the usual problem caused by missing files and a fresh install.
X10 seems to work and for some weird reason they are even listed in the TT SD installler for this NC - TT explains how to create a bootable SD to update to this NC. Does not match the nfo file of the NC though....
X50 works fine too, no problems shutting down, BT and screen response normal.
Works on 32mb models too, but:
small screen devices end up with the messed up status bar as the NC won't run in SELF mode, only in X20 or X30 Emu.
no feedback so far for XL or other 32mb models and a big screen but I assume performance won't be too good with truck features.
For 32mb models I recommend using the 8.398 with Memory Boost instead.

will try and get the map etc.
Most changes seems to be a few buttons extra i.e gps fix (not sure if that works...change skin..just freezes the unit, some buttons in different places.
I didn't notice any difference from the 8.398 navcore, both operated the same, What (if any changes) is anyone expecting from this new navcore?

This is a question for TT Support or the Fleet Managers that this pre-release was offered to.

Well looking at any new maps we expect to see changes , new roads etc.Looking at this navcore (as a casual/private user) against the last one i wouldn't bother paying for it. There seems to be very little changes in the operation and a couple of not so good changes in the layout.
Just downloading the latest map but doing it slowly (wifey keeps asking why i need yet another £8 cos it's less for her to shop for handbags/shoes etc).
I seriously don't expect any different with new navcore and new map unless you use the tomtom work thing.
As an aside , who designed/built the software for loading this navcore .They deserve a BIG hand clap cos it's so easy and complete.Well done for that.

As for the menu item: the last page contains the stuff needed for the DSA system, GPSFix work by downloading the QuickFix data using a connected mobile phone or the inbuilt SIM on a X40 device,
the Skin Chooser is to select the Emulation - but it seems only X20-X50 can work with this NC, X30 being the recommended.
And for the installer: I was looking for ages for something proper but easy and simply to use. Most important was the ability of very easy and error free use for any Noob.
Most installers are designed to modify your system for a complete installation of Win software and have too much ballast and unwanted functions.
Only reason to pack it as selfextracting Rar was to prevent troubles unpacking with old/unsuited packers, simply start it, wait a moment and enjoy good music while installing - you can acutally change to different songs if needed for longer installs ROFL

Was bit bit concerned about the big download just for a NC, but I thought with only days for single versions to pop up everywhere I leave the choice to the user what he wants ;)
Nice to see that actually some users care about the work we do :)

Ok here you go.
Downloaded the map the slow way i.e 1 at a time ,had to redownload 9 10 11 and 12 then all was well.
Attached the new navcore via downunders new software and used fast activate, all went superbly well. (That is an excellent bit of software Downunder)
The navcore works fine ,some new buttons and some buttons have changed places.
As said before when inputting the truck weight/height/length it is best to do it this way, because there are no feet or inches marks on the keypad
for example Height: if it's 14' 6" high you need to do this: height 14 press on white part of screen and then press 6 it should then look like this 14'6 that's ok
if you press done then back you will see this 14'6". Same for other measurments.

oOn the map side Dartford xing seems ok now and new roads have been added as well.
I will road test it on Monday and if any problems show up i will post them.
My device is a go 530 now runs
App 9.700.1133776.1 os 842337
(2031,6/12/2012)
gps v1.20 boot 5.5120
map is 901_4983

ALG is a MAP FEATURE, not a navcore feature.

My mistake, I asked because it's not giving me the option of lane guidance.

Try Main Menu, Change Preferences, Advanced preferences, Show lane images. If not there, what emulation are you using?
