I ran the QuickGPSfix Update Utility I downloaded via 'navitotal' and was then asked which chipset the device had? I looked through the System Information of the device and could not see any GPS Chipset mentioned.
Q2: What chipset does the XXL Classic use? The choice given by the utility was GlobalLocate or SiRFstar.

Q2: With your XXL turned off, hold your start button down until you get the black & white spec page. The chipset info is on it.

Thank you for your last response.
1. In post 10 you asked me to post my 'current config' and I did so in post 11. Did you get any info from my results and if so, what are your findings?
With regard to what chipset my device has, I held down the start button and the 'black & white spec spec' appeared but there was no mention of what chipset my XXL Classic uses?
The only thing that relates to "GPS" on the config screen is where it states:
2. GPS Type: GL2BCM4750 FFFF
Thanks, bheart

tendriver wrote:1. There is so little ONE XXL Classic info available, I wanted to see how your unit referred to itself in this line: DeviceVersionHW=ONE XXL Classic
2. That's your chipset. GL2BCM4750 = GL2 = GlobalLocate

Thanks again for your help.
1. Ok, what info where you hoping to see in that line and, I'm just wondering why it's not there?
With regard to the chipset, so it's GlobalLocate, should have realized that from the "GL"?
Q1: By the way, I keep forgetting to ask, you have answered all my questions but are you in the UK or somewhere else?
Q2: You are "Super Moderator" and always seem to be available anytime of the day, is this what you do for a job?

If it referred to itself as something different, then more info might have been available by that name. Example: A XL Classic Europe is a DeviceVersionHW=ONE V9.
Q1: I'm on the west side of the "Big Pond".
Q2: Nope: I have a "Home Office". I can work & play here at the same time.

Q1: I have the XXL Classic Western Europe and I am in Europe so is there any reason why the info that you were expecting to find in that line, is not there?
Having said that, what version is my device?
West Side of the "Big Pond", that's a large mass of land you got there. Florida is great, but we love New York,
2. it's a totally difference holiday (oops, sorry, vacation)
Anyway, thanks for your reply. I see what the results of the charging are and I'll post back.
Forgot to add, what a great job you've got there.

In this example, I can google XL Classic Europe & ONE V9. In your case, I only have the 1 search option. You have a XXL Classic, just as you said.
2. I understand your reference to holiday. Also petrol, boots, bonnets, lorries, spanners, ironmonger, etc.
