I'm new to this forum. Is there any way of uploading a map with this model of device either via home or MyDrive Connect possibly with an SD card without having to pay for it?

B) No, none at all. Most are I believe, sold with Lifetime Updates for the map that came with it, otherwise you have to buy a different one.
