D/U's right (as usual). You should NOT write protect your SD card for the reasons stated!

Hey Downunder35m, thanks; dont know if you read before, but in the last months i have been changing from setup to setup on 2 diferent units; they start working good, then they stop work; if i lock the card to write protect do you think it will fix the problem?

EDIT

didn't see biggerdave post, sorry

my basic question is: After rebuild the sdhc it works, i dont need anything more on card, if tomtom dont need the card for nothing, i can lock it, im concient that it will be like that forever, unless tomtom needs it

If you lock it, how will you do mapshare updates, gpsfix updates etc. TT adds, deletes, changes data almost everytime you use the unit.
