usually i use normal, official navcore on internal memory, and a truck navcore on SD card, so if any problem surges on card i can always use the internal.
well, now that you are saing that, i detected that kind of files on my devices... what could be doing that?
there are is a thing that can contribute for this, its the batery of the devices that is not standind charge, so it turns off 1, or 2 minutes after, it must be always under external power...

Btw, why never post my device ID? nobody can hurt my device, since its on my hand...

Anyone can use your DeviceID and serial, that includes TT;)
Imagine someone locks into your account and orders new maps of the world - don't take that too serious...
If you have a weak battery it can explain the filesystem problems, when turned off the device goes on standby,
if not used for a long time it should shut down completely.
With a weak or dead battery this system does not always work and you can loose all power while a file is being written on the device - cause data garbage and in worse cases loss of data and a malfuntioning device.
If it is so dead the TT turns off after a few minutes it is advised to change the battery to prevent it from leaking.

got it the deviceID thing, thanks

so, is there a way to shutoff and not standby the devices?

Holding the power button for 15+sec to turn off or pressing the reset button once the device is off.

Are you saying that both of your units will only run 1 or 2 minutes on battery? My X20 had a bad battery (10 minutes max run time) for 2 years with no weird files, no freezes & no shutdown problems.

Thanks

520 stands for more than 30 minutes, just 930 stands 1 our 2 minutes. I have seen those files on both.

Now that we know you are using cards on both units, may I suggest, that rather than wasting time chit-chatting about what may or may not be the cause of your problem, you take a few minutes to rebuild your SDHC cards & see if your problem still exists.

1. You only mention navcore 8.396, which is out of date. 8.398 is current.
2. When do you think the new map will arrive?
3. I agree. As I stated, "you take a few minutes to rebuild your SDHC cards & see if your problem still exists.

1. got it
2. maybe end of the day, its taking 20 minutes per part, plus 30 minutes stand by download
3. got it too, on old rebuild no problem exists as i expected. it will crash in some days... maybe hours. As soon download its finnished i'll rebuild with newer version. thanks again

tendriver wrote:Download navcore 8.398: [Please Register or Login to download file] & Pre-patched SE ttsystem & PNDNavigator

Download Truck map: Europe_TRUCK_880_3845 PW: navitotal

Go here: FastActivate 24.11.2011 {1.8.8.0} Read the instructions. Select the premium version.

Start with your 930 since it has a 4GB memory.
Erase everything on the memory except the ttgo.bif file.
Load your 930 backup, except the old map.
Load the 8.398 navcore, including the pre-patched ttsystem & PNDNavigator files, overwriting any common files.
Load the Truck 880.3845 map.
Run FastActivate per the instructions & only click the map button.
Disconnect & reboot.

You will do the exact same thing with a 4GB SDHC card for your 520.

Here i am again
Downloaded all the files
extrated the cab into the SDHC that had only TTgo.bif
copied map to the card
extrated the PNDNavigator and ttsystem, overwriting all
executed fastactivate,
clicked update meta.txt
clicked Maps/Voices/Speedcams, choosed tomtom drive, it said "Europe_TRUCK-463.meta => .dct OK!"
clicked to exit, since already did overwrite on PNDNavigator and ttsystem
Is it ok, or should i click ttsystem/PNDNavigator ?

sorry the dumb question but im feeling its passing a very litle thing...

its working good, lets see for how long... :wallbash:

Adding question -> can i move the card's clip to write protect? or tomtom uses card for temp files? im using an 4GB SDHC class 10

1. Yes, but it is not a good idea.

2. No, it does not. It does add permanent files as you use the device.

Thu Jan 26, 2012 10:13 pm

well, is it advised to write protect the card?

Thu Jan 26, 2012 11:27 pm

You won't e able to save your favorites for example and the TT won't be able to write anything.
Since the ttgo.bif is created new at every boot I don't think it helps you to write protect the SD.
