Tomtom XL v2 is it possible to Install hacked map

Sorry for being so dumb , I have't done any hacking of tomtoms before. I want to go to France .Is it possible to get France maps on my XL v2

Does your device have enough space for a France MAP?

Does it have a SD card slot?

please [color="Red"]DO NOT[/color] attempt to upgrade your navcore, you have a version 1x bootloader and special navcore 8.080 so you are unable to change that it is found in some defective tomtom models that tomtom released that quickfix in order for them to sell them , you can use this map France_845_2647 (365.89 MB) and patch your ttsystem file with yDG tool if you get any problems ask me and i will patch your ttsystem for you

Hi,
downloaded France_845_2647 used easy tools to patch and I think everything working ok. I am able to switch between UK and France Maps now.
Hope this will help me to drive in France.

I was just wondering is it possible to remove both maps and just install Western_Europe_1GB_845_2666 (882.15 MB) map into the system. Please advise.

I don't think that's a problem. just remove both maps which are on your tomtom now and replace it for Western_Europe 845.2666. Your navcore is ready for it.
Activation works the same as the France-map.

Also a possibility, Central Europe 845.2744. A bit more details than Western_Europe. And France is also on it.

Also check the map chart your map will need to be compatible with the navcore ;)

my novcore is App8.080(9662/040301) os:1000 . it is not listed in the chart, I am assuming maps compatible for 8.07 will work with my device

Installed Western Europe map and all working fine . Really tempted to upgrade navcore, not want to try until back from France.

Great that you got your map updated, good job but as tendriver said read my earlyer post in this threead (#05) i do not reccomend you try and upgrade your navcore.
