Tomtom One XL Update Navcore and Map Help....!!!

Postby Coroiba » Tue Mar 01, 2011 9:27 pm

Hello GPS Gurus.

Thanks for all the nice information and great tools that you guys developed !. I have a TT One XL with Navcore 8.010, 64MB Ram, Boot 5.5128 installed and working on a SD card. If I take the card out I can't get the TT to recognize anything on the internal memory. Since all my maps are old, I would like to know what I need to do to get both internal and SD card navcore updated so I can update my maps to the new 8.65 version. Since the new maps require a new navcore I would appreciate any recommendation from you gps guru's.

Thanks a lot for your wisdom.

Newbie Share.....

1. Connect Tomtom to PC. ----> PC must connect to Internet for online activation/patch.
2. Make a complete back-up to the original SDCard Tomtom via windows explorer (copy-paste)
3. Download Navcore for TT One XL from here: [Please Register or Login to download file]
4. Password: navitotal, Extract to your PC
5. Copy-paste from a PC to TT one XL.
6. Point the installation to the SDCard TT One XL
7. If you are asked to "overwrite all files" ----> YES.
8. After the installation is complete, Download Maps file from here : http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?4551-All-New-Maps-865.XXXX
9. Copy the folder to Root folder SDCard.
10. Excute AutoActivate.exe on SDCard to get online patch for Map, sound, etc
11. DONE

I have never seen a ONE XL with 64MB RAM. Later versions do. Before you do anything, please confirm the Ram size. It makes a difference.
The new maps do not require a new navcore.
In your case a newer navcore will give you a bigger map selection window.

Hello Tendriver and Artful,

Thanks for the help and the wisdom first of all. Just to make sure when I go to TT menu>status & information>version information, this is what it shows me. Device ID XOXOXOX OXOXOX, app 9.205.547817.1, OS 547200, 64MB RAM (free 30.9MB) GPS 1.20, Boot 5.5128. So far I was able to update the navcore, I am downloading the current maps and I have a question. With this navcore and the current 8.65 maps can I get the IQ Route feature on my hardware?. Also, how do I patch TT Home on my PC, I just download and installed the latest Home version, but I could not figure out how to patch it.

Once again, thank very much for your wisdom.

Depends what map you download as to wether you have alg and iq routes. check the map list table at beginning of map thread. Use fastactivate to patch tomtom home.

1. Please merge your posts 5 & 6 into one, using the Edit Post feature.
2. 865.3244, 3245, 3255, 3287 & 3298 have IQ.

Hello again,

Thanks for all the help so far. I finally manage to download the maps and to update the navcore. I installed and patched TT Home as per instructions. After I reboot my computer and connect my TT to the PC and open TT HOME, I get this error:

ERROR: 573/#[Please Register or Login to download file] Error from server: You have an invalid version of the TomTom application installed on your TomTom device. To
What Am I doing wrong...???

Best.

To fix version error
Open the ttgo.bif file with Notepad
Replace lines 9 & 10 with these
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8010
ApplicationVersion=9369
Save as; ttgo.bak
Disconnect & reboot

Thanks everyone for the great help.

After all the updates and patches, I still have some small annoyances. The voices are not working any more and even with TT Home patched, I can't control my device, I always get a error message saying that the map can't be used in this device.
Other than that, the new navcore and maps are working fine. I just want to try to solve this last issues.

Thanks,

Coroiba.

Do you have a [email protected] folder in the extensions folder of your Windows version?

With XP
C:\Documents and Settings\ User Name\ApplicationData\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\extensi ons

With Vista or Windows 7

C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\xxxxxxxx .default\extensions

If you still have 8010 in line 9 of your ttgo.bak file, then [email protected] is the folder that needs to be patched, when patching TT Home.
