TomTom One (V7)

TomTom One (V7)

Postby apgreencardr » Mon Dec 06, 2010 2:44 am

I have been working on this all day and finally got past a frozen screen on boot up. Now I have another obstacle. I can't select a map to load. Details follow..
-StartingConfiguration-
DeviceName=TomTom One
DeviceVersionHW=One(V7)
BootloaderVersion=55001
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8010
ApplicationVersion=9369
CurrentMap=USA_AND_CANADA
CurrentMapVersion=710.1575

-New Configuration-
DeviceName=TomTom One
DeviceVersionHW=One(V7)
BootloaderVersion=55001
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8010
ApplicationVersion=9369
CurrentMap=
CurrentMapVersion=0.0

I installed map 860.3127 and used AutoActivate but noticed in the new configuration, current map is blank and version is 0.0. Is that normal?
After turning the One on, I get the option to select a map; Guam or USA and Canada. Selecting either one gives me an error screen: "Problem with map, You cannot use this map on this device:" (depending on which map I selected, the name is here).
I also noticed the voice file is missing in the update. Do I just copy my old voice file over from my backup of the old version?

Open your 860.3127 folder & confirm the presence of a meta.dct file.
If you do a navcore clean install, you lose a lot. It's best to copy the new navcore over the old, overwriting any common files.

I have confirmed there is no meta.dct file. I am not clear on what you are suggesting I do with the new navcore. I used tomtom home to update to navcore 8010 and then copied the new map, 860.3127 over the old one. I renamed the map folder to match the original and copied autoactivate into the tomtom root directory and ran it.

You must patch your navcore with FastActivate premium use button ttsystem/PNDnavigator

1. Copy FastActivate.exe to root of device and run
2. patch navcore with button ttsystem/PNDnavigator
3. activate your maps with button maps/voices/speedcams
4. done... start your device

No .meta.dct file in the map folder tells you that the map is not patched. You remove the old map folder & copy in the new map folder, not copy new over old. The name of the map folder is irrelevant & can be named anything. Swap out the 2 map folders as stated here. Confirm a ttgo.bif file is in the root & rerun the patcher.

Good call. You are a step ahead of me. I was trying to correct the map issue first.

Not to sound too overly excited but I followed the directions from above:
1. Copy FastActivate.exe to root of device and run
2. patch navcore with button ttsystem/PNDnavigator
3. activate your maps with button maps/voices/speedcams
4. done... start your device
It booted up and looks to be working now. I will have to "field test" it to be sure all is well but after seeing frozen screens and unusable maps I am optomistic. Thank you for the support. I'll check in later to confirm all is well.
