TomTom One

Fri Jan 02, 2015 2:35 am

Hi Everyone,

First off, all the best of the season to everyone.

I have a friend who is a little low on cash these days and the map on her Tomtom One is woefully out of date. When I run the universal Navcore loader though I don't see a Navcore for Tomtom One's. Am I overlooking something?

Thanks

You missed reading the instructions ;)
There are many TT models out there that share certain features, like amount of RAM installed, screen size and so on.
I'll give you hint: check how much RAM the TT has ;)

Hi,

Thanks for the hint - I got the Navcore loaded ;o)

Now though, it looks like the internal storage is insufficient for a lot of maps. Is that common? Assuming that it is, should I be looking for a small map (ie Eastern Canada and US)?

Thanks Again

1. You are correct.
2. Yes. The only reason for multiple versions of a map edition is to accommodate the many different TT models.
3. Yes you should. Find a map that will fit the remaining internal storage & that covers, as much as possible, the area you need.

Great thanks...that's what I thought ;o(

Honestly,it should be fine.

Hi,

I was quite sure that I did all the steps correctly but when I tried to activate the map I got an error, "Incomplete map(s) : eastern_US_and _Canada-100297.meta => dct ERROR". Any idea what I did wrong?

The only piece in this process that is fuzzy to me surrounds the navcore. How can you tell which version of the navcore is created? Is the version identifiable somewhere?

Thanks Again

ttgo.bif
[TomTomGo]
DeviceName=TomTom GO 720
DeviceVersionHW=GO 720
DeviceSerialNumber=
DeviceUniqueID=
RamDiskVersion=20130427
BootLoaderVersion=55279
LinuxVersion=842337
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9510
ApplicationVersion=1234792.1

Hi,

Great, thanks.

Can I assume that the ApplicationVersionVersionNumber is the Navcore version? If so, is the ApplicationVersion significant as well?

I will soon be an expert ;o)

Hi,

I may be wrong but it looks to me like there are some bad map links. For example, I am trying to load Eastern_US_and_Canada_940.5993 - the following is pasted from the map page...

Eastern_US_and_Canada_940.5993 [801MB] OR
Eastern_US_and_Canada_940.5993 with Automatic Installer & Patcher
; Eastern_US_and_Canada v940.5963
16 D1 3D BB 18 5F 2F 6C F9 5E B9 5B 66 42 86 70 Eastern_US_and_Canada-100198.meta

However, if you look at line 4 above it says v940.5963 not 940.5993. There is another similar discrepancy with another different map. Could this be causing my "incomplete map error"?

Thanks

5963 and 5995 are usable with a meta code, I don't see anything wrong in the map thread.
The codes are listed with the correct maps.
"Incomplete" means the meta file is missing missing in the map, are you sure you downloaded all and unpacked with no errors?

Hi,

I just checked and Eastern_USA_and_canada-100207.meta is in the map folder. Is that the meta file that should be in the map folder?

I am pretty sure that I downloaded all parts and unzipped properly but I will reconfirm tomorrow. The only step that I may have deviated a bit on is unzipping the map files. Instead of unzipping to a directory on my computer, I unzipped it directly to the internal storage of the Tomtom.

Are you saying that 5963 and 5995 use the same meta code?

Thanks

hmmmmm...I just noticed that the meta file listed for the Eastern_US_and_Canada map is -100198.meta and not the 100207.meta that is in my map folder. Do you think that is the culprit?

This is the only E US & C 940 map with a meta code, & it is correct.

Hi,

Since the EU and Canada 940 is too big for the TT one, I have decided to try :

Northern_US_and_Canada_940.5995 [477MB] OR
Northern_US_and_Canada_940.5995 with Automatic Installer & Patcher
; Northern_US_and_Canada v940.5995
FB 86 2E 2F D7 9B 26 57 13 E6 4F EC 97 FC 24 2D Northern_US_and_Canada-100209.meta

Now though, when I go to activate, I get the "Incomplete Maps dct.error". I see that the Northern_US_and_Canada-100209.meta is created. From what I have read, it sounds like a problem with the map but nothing is jumping out at me. Can you think of anything?

Thanks

Put FastActivate & a copy of the device's ttgo.bif file into the unzipped 5995 map folder & run option 2. If you still get the "Incomplete Maps dct.error", then I would download the map again.
