TomTom ONE v8 stuck in reboot loop

Tue Sep 04, 2018 7:30 am

I have an TomTom ONE v8 which is stuck in a reboot loop.

You get the TomTom ONE splash screen. Then a progress indicator. Then black screen. Back to the splash screen.

I have followed all advice which I could find on the internet in various fora but without effect:
  • Format the device and reinstall all software using TomTom Home
  • Restore an image to the device I previously created on my Mac using the dd command
  • Formatted the device to NTFS first and then to FAT and FAT32
  • Fiddled with the MapSettings.cfg file as suggested in some forums
  • Installed latest NavCore V9.510 for 32mb devices
I am out of options. Is there anything else I could try to get the device working again?

Thanks,
JeeWee

Did you install a new map also and are you still using the same mapsettings.cfg file ?
Delete that file, it's not always compatible with a new map.

I installed on a fresh new device using TomTom Home software that downloads everything directly from TomTom. No effect.

If you bought and download everything direct from TomTom, why not ask them ?
