TomTom ONE XL stuck in boot (tomtom logo)

Fri Apr 16, 2021 9:50 pm

Hello guys,

So I've made a big mess on my tom tom one xl. I planned to update my maps.
I couldn't do a back up beforehand, since it had some issues to copy certain files. Then I was adding navcore files manually resulting in no success. Then I used the TT Universal NavCore Installer. Then again I was modifying files on the device. It was a try and error project. :D Long story short I deleted everything from the device, then used the installer again. Still the device is stuck on the boot logo(no drum sound). How I can make it work again?

Thanks in advance for the replies, or the links for older threads. I was looking around but could find what I need.

It's still actual these 7 easy steps even to start from crash

7 simple steps to update your device with the latest map

To update your device with the latest map, follow these simple steps:

1) VERY IMPORTANT: Connect your device to your computer via USB. Using Windows Explorer, open your TomTom drive and backup the complete contents of your TomTom.

2) Check your navcore version. You can do this either on the device menu under Version Info, or you can check the navcore version in TomTom Home when the device is connected to your computer, or by opening the ttgo.bif file with notepad.
Try to find Navcore 9.510, which work on most devices, it's always possible to install another

3) Check which map is compatible with your navcore using the latest compatibility, found on most forums

4) Get the map which fits you best and which also fits on your device
Delete the old map folder

5) Extract the map using WinRaR or similar.
Copy across the new map folder into the root of the device.
Make sure when you open the map folder it only contains the map files, not another folder within a folder.

6) Download the latest version of FastActivate from the FastActivate thread:
Extract the file and copy across FastActivate.exe to the TomTom drive (the root of the device).

7) Run FastActivate.exe from the TomTom drive, clicking on the first 3 options in order, waiting for each to complete:
Update meta, patch maps, patch navcore.

When you're in trouble finding parts, just ask me

Thank you for your reply. After reading your post I was still not sure how to fix my tt.
Since all the navcores what I tried to install were crashing.
Then I tried the original tomtom cab file( I think 9.5.10) from their website, then it worked again. Then following your instruction I successfully put the two choose map.
If I understood good, you cannot downgrade the navcore from a newer version. At least not easily. Probably my navcore was (at least) 9.510. So that is why the older versions of navcore installers couldn't help me.
Although now the tt says there is no voices installed for my language. So I will look into that tonight. I remember reading something about this issue on the forum previously.

Thank again!

Okay I used tomotom home :D
If Ive alrady patched tomtom home with fastactivate then the cracked navcore and map wont be a problem right? I mean legal issues.
Thanks

For downgrading any bootloader there is a solution too.
You have to do that into two steps.
First install version 0.0001
Than install any other you want.
Search here ftp://Twenty_Four_Hour_Service:[email protected]:47474
Mind you this option work only for the next 24 hours

Thank you! This time I did not need to downgrade it. It works as a charm with the new maps. Thank you again for the help!
