You could try connecting it to TTHome and operate the device from there.
Then just navigate to a destination.
Disconnect and restart TT.

I've never had an instance of a TT rebooting due to not having a gps connection.

Alternatively, you could try removing every single file (not maps) from the root of your device and reinstalling the 9.510 NC.
Are you using downunder's installation file?
You are not reusing an old mapsettings.dat?

Hi,

Was using downunder's navcore new mapsettings.dat from the v920 map

Installed 9.170se navcore which i have used before on other tomtom one XL's with no problems and still the same

Its funny cos it gets to the map screen and then reboots

I have never seen a tomtom that says poor GPS reception before thats why i said about the GPS receiver

Thanks in advance

When you start a TT with the old map deleted and a new map added some devices only check for the location of the map as defined inside the CurrentMap.dat - which won't work if the map folder is different and/or the map is different in name. This in return can cause the device to hang and become non-responsive, not even reset or Clear Flash will help.
Similar thing can happen if your old map was for example a Europe map with the last use in Europe. If you replace the EU map with a US map (and have not got a proper sat fix before) the TT can't position you on the new map and can freeze too.

IMHO the safest way to avoid problems when installing a new map is to delete the CurrentMap.dat and CurrentLocation.dat in the root after the new map is installed and activated and before you start the TT with the new map.
Might also help once you got the problem already.

Hi,

Have managed to stop it from rebooting by installing original navcore (7.162) and map v715.1689

Now it won't connect to any satellites

When i go to GPS status the blue and yellow ball that spins around don't move

And still says poor GPS reception are you inside a building

Please help

Thanks in advance
