Tomtom One 3rd Edition: To update from ground up help please

Postby sayvia » Wed Jul 05, 2017 11:58 pm

Hello everyone!

I've browsed this forum for a few weeks, and with all the topics about navcores, compatible maps for navcores etc. My head is going around in circles. Frankly, I know nothing about what to do to have a bang up to date tomtom. I know how to do stuff with my computer but having had my Tomtom One 3rd Edition since 2005, I kept putting off the £40 update for years, and now Tomtom doesn't support it anymore, and even before they stopped completely, they offered 'partial' updates, like, only parts of the UK (where I'm from) BUT I want a whole UK map, not just bits...

So... whatever the last 'whole uk' map is available (with whatever last metacode) I could really use it for this Tomtom as I never updated the map the whole time I have had it, sure I downloaded sounds and icons from Tomtom home over the years for free, Tomtom home rejects this old dog now even! If copying and pasting files to my HD is the main way to backup my files, consider that done, if there is more to it, please someone let me know!

So backing up and having the last full UK map that was available for this model, paste whatever tutorials if need be, but ideally, if someone can give me a full precise step by step and copying the correct links for me to this thread, I would be forever grateful!

I've seen others run apps to give a full device bio, which I can do if requested, though if the information from this 'about' screen is enough, i'm hoping i'll get my help that little bit quicker (I would have taken this as a photo but I can't find the attach button on here!).

Device AKxxxx xxxxx
App 8.010 (9369/080529) OS: 190943
32 MB RAM (Free: 3.9MB)
GPS v1.21 Boot 5.5001
Map:
'United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland' v705.1485

Please help! Regards!

Use the map
United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland 980_8306
maps-v9xx-f179/all-new-maps-990-t19803.html
[Please Register or Login to download file]
--
1) Make a backup of your Device and delete the map.
--
Copie the chosen map to your Device in his own folder.
If you open the map you see the loose files and probably a folder (brand).
Not a map in a map.
--
2) Download FastActivate
[Please Register or Login to download file]
unpack and
Copy "FastActivate.exe" and meta.txt to your TomTom device in the root

Run "FastActivate.exe".
Select 2 and 3
Wait for the announcement navcore Patched.

Done

To the same place where you deleted the old map (root of the device).
I made a mistake use United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland 980_8365

Hi holyhead!

Sorry for long delay in replying, after your last message, I did the new map, it was sucessful, though I wanted to try it out for a few weeks to make sure there were no problems and it was up to date, and it checks those boxes, so super thanks, the one thing though, is all the speed camera data seems to be wiped, the fastactive file doesn't seem to restore it, is it possible to get camera files?
