tomtom one 3rd edition 512mb wont boot

hiya all

this one is baffling me

daughter played around with this tomtom and erased everything

connects to pc and is recognised and tt home starts and recognises unit, it installs navcore and then goes to reboot but stuck on tomtom screen

tried formatting, clear flash, the let tt home install relevant navcore for device and still doesnt get past tomtom screen, left it for ages but nothing, when connect back to pc i can access drive and can see that the navcore is there but there is no ttgo.bif file

tried navcore 9.845 installer and did bootloader update but still stuck on boot screen

any suggestions?

Did you try the TT clear flash tool and a proper hard reset (hold reset for 30+ sec.)?

did an erase of drive, tt clear flash, hard reset, turned on got red x, connect to pc turned on again, tt home started, dowload and installed correct app for device, re boot when finished, still stuck on boot screen.
reset, turned on and held down power button. got black screen with info on it and it had changed bootloader back to original s5.5001
did another tt clearflash a few times, re boot and stuck on grey screen with blue bar at bottom (assume this is clear flash), left it for a while and still stuck on that screen, hard reset and when start again still stuck on tomtom boot screen.

Sounds to me like a faulty internal memory or other hardware fault.
If it still installs you can try my rescue bootloader but I doubt it will change anything.

Or you might be lucky to find one with a broken screen on Ebay dirt cheap ;)
Replacing is pretty straight forward.
