Tomtom for truck

Tue Jan 14, 2025 6:58 pm

Hello,

I am looking for a tomtom where I can install tomtom truck with europa maps. So its good to have a lot of internal memory or use an sd card.

I saw a tomtom go 6100. Is that a good one for tomtom truck, or are here other suggestions?

I also see tomtom 600. With micro sd

Hello, my easiest devices are the good old Go720/730 and Go920/930.
These Nav2 units with a 9.702 navcore (on a 8Gb up to 32Gb SDHC card) run a Nav2 Europe Truck map (4.3Gb).
Map and speedcams can be added free from TTActivator.
You can quite easily change the battery if you've got a tired 2nd hand device.

A Nav3 unit like my Start25 can run a Nav3 Europe Truck map (5Gb) but I prefer the older ones.

Nav4 units appear too hard to patch with a Nav4 Europe Truck map (9Gb).

Thank you for your help. If I find a tomtom, where can I see which nav version it is?
Instead. Tomtom go 510, easy to install tomtom truck and the maps?

With the first two characters of the serial number, you identify the device model. For instance "J4" is a Go730.
A list of devices (with Nav2 Nav3 Nav4 etc) is on the page tutorials/how-identify-your-tomtom-device-t21960.html
Zoom in the page to have a readable view.
Unfortunately Go 510 (or 610 - 710 - 910) don't run truck maps.
The best choice with 2nd hand units is a Go720/730 (around 20€) or Go920/930 (around 30€).

....or the slightly new models GO540/740/940 or GO550/750/950 which use the MicroSD card (as mentioned already on another forum)
