the 855.2884 map contains cspeech files.do i need them as the go classic does not have ASr etc?
For the post codes do i just add the 855 zip folder to the root of tomtom
For speed cameras can i just add the uk premium ones to the map folder and activate please

its just that i have done the later go 520 and 540 no problems but with this older model i need a bit more guidance please

1. You may not need the cspeech files, but 8442 has IQ & ALG.
2. Download the file, unzip it & put the "Zip" folder in the root.
3. Yes.
4. You still do it the same way.

Did you do this ?

Hard Reset
  • Hold pin-hole reset button for 30 seconds
  • Hold on/off button for 5 seconds untill the black config screen shows
  • Press pin-hole reset button once
  • Turn on as normall
  • Run TomTom Clear Flash Tool 3 times
  • Done

You cant use the clear flash tool if your device can not be reconigsed as a drive but a GO Classic does have a sd card slot right ? so if the internal memory is fried you could just use the sd card , what is your current bootloader please and also what was the bootloader before you started changing things you can find this in the ttgo.bif in your first backup if you made one.

original from classic
from the ttgo.bif on SD Card

TomTomGo]
DeviceName=TomTom Go
DeviceVersionHW=???
DeviceSerialNumber=???
DeviceUniqueID=AK3AN AABRS
RamDiskVersion=20041010
BootLoaderVersion=429
LinuxVersion=201
ApplicationVersion=2852
UserLanguage=English UK

everything is exactly same now cos i just copied the backup back onto the sd card,this was because i could not sort out what to do to just use the sd card and update tht.

What i really need is detailed instructions and links to navcore and map that will go onto an SD card so i can just ignore the internal memory as i cannot axcess it via pc as it does not show up.

So i am afraid its still as it was when i was asked if it could be brought up to date

All help appreciated

Put the navcore & map of your choice + a copy of the device's ttgo.bif on the card. Run the patcher of your choice.
Done.

Latest Navcores
