You can do an overwrite but to avoid problems (or if problems occur) a clean install is the best option.
Voices, sounds and other personal folders can be added from a backup once the TT works as expected.

Many thanks for the reply

I have got further now as I updated the bootloader so that SDHC cards can be read

For the XL one I presume I use the XL version of 9.510

Also it says copy voices over first. Which voices do you recommend?

Really appreciate the time you have taken to help

Whatever voice you want, the voice selection is enirely up to the user's choice :)
In case you need spoken street names select the V6 or 6.5 Loquendo voices as your CPU is a bit slow.
However the V7 voices should work fine with my Navcores.

Last question I promise

I presume I have used the correct navcore for the XL ONE (9.51p XL)

Also I saw a post on Navitotal (think it was yours) where you could download a full backup including voices

Could you give me the link as having trouble finding it

Once again many thanks for your help

Can't be too hard to find our Navcore section, can it? ;)

Hi,

Have tried the computer voices v7 and v6.5 on the ONE XL and they worked but it kept crashing (probably low memory issues) - Is there anything else I can try or is it a lost cause
Tried looking for v6 voices but links were dead

Many thanks once again for your time

I don't know what you tried and what NC version you currently use...
(probably) does not really help either, better would be to check the available free RAM, if below 6mb you know where your problem is.

I am using your version (9.510) - I read somewhere that the Serena voice works OK but I am having trouble locating it

If you would have read a bit more you would have done two things:
a) not posted your device ID
b) made a posting with complete information

Since the first V9 Navcore was available ONE user could use them - if done correctly.
So at this stage I have to assume user error.
Bootloader 5.5112 or 5.5128 would be fine for your device.

Hey,

I have a TT ONE (v3) model 4N00.004.2- 32Mb (6.8 Mb free) with 3.5" screen (not wide screen). It runs on NC 9.170 SE with the 940.xxxx maps. It runs smoothly.
When I read this forum you suggest not to use a v9.xx NC on these devices and especially not a SE.
However mine works fine, menu is fast and I never had any freezing of menu or maps during navigation.
Current BL = 5.5136.
Why do you suggest a lower NC and not SE for these devices ?
What is the difference between a normal NC and a SE one ?
