Tomtom GO 930T and Navcores

Sat Jun 26, 2010 5:47 am

First off, I'm a n00b when it comes to modifying the Tomtom.

I'm completely overwhelmed by the amount of information here, so I'd like to ask a few questions.

I'd like to update to the latest and greatest navcore, what version should I use for my GO 930T? 9.051 or 9.026? For 9.026, Should I download the LIVE cab or not? For 9.051, should I download the 2009 XXL, 2009 XL or the 2010 XXL?

Where can I find information on the 9.101 Navcore that you're using? It's not in the Navcore 9 thread.

Also, for 9.051, which file should I download? 2009 XXL TTS? 2010 XXL?

thats because its a Fairly new navcore version and its not yet 100% approoved in here....

but if you still wanna try it, you must first, as usual. make a FULL BACKUP of your GPS...

follow this tutorial --> http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?885-How-to-Backup-your-TomTom-Device

then you can install a new navcore

for 9.051, which file should I download? 2009 XXL TTS? 2010 XXL? What are the differences between the two?

Why the basicpack?

I thought I was able to run any cab file with my 930?

Another question then:

For the 9.026, should I download the 950 cab file, the 950 LIVE cab file or the basicpack?

Sat Jun 26, 2010 6:09 am

you can your right.... but honestly, basicpack works great and all features are in there anyways...

For the 9.026, should I download the 950 cab file, the 950 LIVE cab file or the basicpack? or does it not matter? I'm trying to understand the differences between each file.

For 9.051, does the 2010 XXL cab file have TTS? or do I need the 2009 XXL TTS cab file if I want TTS?

Sat Jun 26, 2010 6:14 am

dude,,,, you said you want the 9.051 navcore... stick to that,,,

its simple...

a basicpack version of a navcore means, its modified to function also on 32MB RAM TOMTOM GPS...

now your GO930 has 64MB RAM,,,

so you can get the .cab or the basickpack.... you choose,,,,

Sat Jun 26, 2010 6:16 am

I'm going to download the 9.051 files, but I want to ask about other versions so I can learn for the future what the differences are for each file, so I won't have to ask anyone again. It's better if I ask once now, then ask again later, right?

I figure each file has small differences, otherwise, there would only be one file, right?

For 9.051, does the 2010 XXL cab file have TTS? or do I need the 2009 XXL TTS cab file if I want TTS?

TTS = text to speech.....

now, if the .cab your downloading is called lets say 2010XXLTTS, it means that by default, its got the FOLDER for the speech voice

and if the .cab your downloading is called lets say 2010XXL, it means it doesnt have by default the FOLDER for the speech voice

but either way it doesnt matter because, we have a section just for downloading voices.... so FOLDER or not, you can always add voices after :)

Thanks! that was very informative!

One last question.....what's the difference between the LIVE and non-LIVE cab files for 9.026?
