Open the 910 in windows explorer, then open the ttgo.bif file with notepad. Copy the contents, paste them here & delete the serial # / UniqueID before you click the post button.

EVERY TT unit has a ttgo.bif file. The unit creates a new one every time it is booted.

No the backup .bif is no help. What navcore & map are currently on your 910 hard drive.

It might be a good idea to run a full checkdisk on the hard drive too, they tend to get defects after a few years of good use.
In case the hard drive would be faulty you can easily replace it with a bigger one or a CF card if you don't need that much memory.
But I agree with Tendriver that first we have to figure out what exactly is going on with your device.

There are maps for the 7.9 Navcores, but we would need the full version number to know for sure and not just the first 3 digits.
But an unsuitable map would not explain his start problems.
What about the checkdisk? Any results there?

Here is more incorrect info from you. There are 10 855 map versions & 9 850 map versions that are compatible with 7.9XX navcores. There are 3 850 Italy maps, 2 are compatible.

the navcore you are using altho it is your officiall navcore i reccomend you updating it rather than figuring out your problem do a delite of all files on the device after backing them up then Please try to install one of our autoinstallers then see if your problem persists find them here ;) http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?2831-TomTom-Automatic-Navcore-Installation Try 9.205

You can ignor that error windows is giving you about the drive not formatted, TomTom drives do NOT require formating, it shortens the life of your device, just a simple delite does the Trick, Have you tried 1 of our Autoinstallers i reccomended to you in my last post ??
