thanks for helping but this didn't helped. it keeps "hanging" on the boot screen

do you have a reset pin hole?

i think you should....

use that to make your HARD RESET...

insert A needle in there & hold for at least 30 seconds...

Yes try a hard reset followd by the tomtom clear flash tool (get it from my sig) if that still dont work turn on your devic e and immediatly connect to your pc, does your pc recognise it as a drive ?

Wed Jun 16, 2010 7:52 am

yes i tried a hard reset with the pin hole...

no that's the big problem it isn't recognized as a drive... it says unkown device.

the tomtom clear flash tool will only work if the device is recognized by windows i think?

maybe i will have to open the device and take the hdd out and connect it directly to my pc and try to put a new navcore?

my tt displayed a message like "file is missing" once... but now it just "hangs" on the startup screen without that message anymore...

well, if your pc does not recognise it as a drive, thats really not good at all,,,,

usually, a hard reset fixes this issue.....

i think you may have a broken unit.... sadly

Wed Jun 16, 2010 8:12 am

you mean broken tt or only the hdd? maybe i can fix it or change the hdd? i mean if i could do a Chkdsk on the disk format it and put new navcore it could work again? or maybe replace the hdd? btw what kind of hdd is it? i mean it's too small to be a 2,5" like in the laptops? is the hdd pata or sata? in a last try i would open it and try to connect directly to my pc... maybe even try with a linux distro to get in that hdd

btw maybe this can help i think my device has
Navcore 9.026.483454 se and Bootloader 5.5259 with Western_and_Central_Europe_840_2563

You get replacement HDD's with up to 80GB - but have you tried the hard reset correctly?
I mean : press the reset and without turning your TT on connect to the PC - now turn it on and it should connect to the PC.
In case you HDD really is broken you can also replace it with CF card and an adaptor -16GB card and adaptor on Ebay about 20$

Hello Downunder35!
Can you use a CF? Or is it a SD memory? I ask because I too have a One that I would like to up the memory on. I have read a bit on adding the SD adapter. Thanks!

You can use a CF card only.
There are several adaptors available on Ebay for a few bucks or you can upgrade to up to 80GB HDD's.
Let me know if you need a tutorial for it I might be able to provide one with good pictures for the dismantling of our device.
The rest is just a simple plug in the new thing game ;)
But keep in mind hat most V9 Navcores won't work with a CF card unless they are modified for it.
I can modify the V8 Navcore for CF card use (if they don't work) but I never tried it with a V9 Navcore.

Yes please, I'd like to see your info on the CF. For claification; you're talking about V8 app on a One 3rd Ed right?
Thanks!

If you check th title you see we are talking about the 910.
On some One 3rd models you can add a SD card internally - but that is only working for a few serial numbers.
I got a tut for the disasambling and the soldering for the SD card in a ONE 3rd too.
But this would be something for a new thread.

i don't bother having to spend a few bucks on a hdd as i paid my tt910 go around 500€... but i still have the older tt500 go somewhere which use sd card. maybe i could use that reader on my 910?

Your HDD is not the problem. The PC will recognize a 910 with a blank HDD. You may have a problem with the 910 dock connector. The solder joints connecting the pins to the board can crack and you have no USB connection.
