TomTom go 740 live europe + how to upgrade to truck maps??

Postby Downunder35m » Sat Oct 26, 2013 12:08 am

You might want to read in the tutorial section - that's where we dump most of out tutorials.
Additional info are inside the latest map thread and the thread for FastActivate.
If that is not sufficient to get you going, you might want to ask someone for help that has basic PC skills.

Copy a navcore to the card. Copy a map folder to the card. Copy FastActivate Latest Update to the card. Put a copy of your device's ttgo.bif on the card. Run FastActivate options 2 & 3 to patch the navcore & map. Done!!

To use the internal navcore, instead of one on the card. Copy a map folder to the card. Copy FastActivate Latest Update to the card. Put a copy of your device's ttgo.bif on the card. Run FastActivate option 2 to patch the map. Done!!

TTs create a new ttgo.bif file everytime they are booted. You will find it where your current working navcore is, internal or SD/SDHC card.

Maybe you did not understand the purpose of the truck map and Navcore?
I mean if you want to use truck features on a TT you should
a) use the 9.701 Truck Navcore
b) use the 915.5513 truck map
According to post #24 you use the standard 9.510 Navcore with an outdated Europe map - so why do you expect to find truck features on such a setup?

Hi I completely understand that 9.701 navcore support track 915.5513 maps.
In post #24 shows configuration from my tomtom internal memory.

Below shows you micro SD card memory:
TTGO.BIF:
DeviceName=TomTom GO 740 LIVE
DeviceVersionHW=GO 740 LIVE
BootLoaderVersion=55279
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9701
ApplicationVersion=1238656.1
CurrentMap=Europe_TRUCK_905_4798
CurrentMapVersion=905.4798
TTGO.BAK:
Not Found...
TTGO.ORI:
Not Found...

Pleas can you tell me if I chosen truck mode on beginning how can I go back to use sat nav as normal car mode or taxi or other one
TTNAVIGATOR.BIF:

Now you are starting to make more sense here :)
For some stupid reason TT thinks if you ever select Truck in the profiles that you want to stick with it.
I have not fully tested all combinations, but if you change the emulation you can select the vehicle profiles again at the next start.
Someone said there are emulations that always keep the vehicle profiles in the menu, but again I did not fully check it as I have no use for EU coverage here.
