TomTom Go 720 No ttgo.bif

Sat Jun 30, 2012 9:49 pm

Hey guys, nice to meet you're acquaintance and all, but I have a problem I would like some help with.

My Go 720 won't create a new ttgo.bif no matter if I format it or clear flash. Unfortunately I got the device wiped, so I don't have the original.
I know when you restart it a new one is suppose to be created, but unfortunately it doesn't do that for me.

I'm trying to run Navcore: 9015 (now using 9.401) by DownUnder :)
With Map: North_America_2GB_4222 (this is the only one with a meta)

Ive just wiped everything now so please can you help me solve this?

New info: When I restarted after flashing and formatting it only gave me a ttn file. On Sd and Internal.

1. Why the big concern over the ttgo.bif file? That is the least of your problems. A unit creates a ttgo.bif file when it boots. With nothing on it, it can't fully boot. You can figure out the rest.
2. The current 720 navcore is 9.430!!
3. Load 9.430 & NA_2GB_890.4222 on the internal. Go here: AutoActivate & FastActivate 1.8.8.7 Read the instructions. Download & unzip the.rar. Select the Premium version. Run it per the instructions to patch the navcore & map. When done, disconnect your 720 & reboot. You are back in business.
4. If you have a card installed, remove it before doing point 3.

Hey Now I get the error, "no maps found" I did the step 3 with the card out and now I get the no maps error

I fixed this by reformatting, and flash clearing and doing a fresh install. Thanks again for all the help Tendriver! :D

The "no maps found" message is just a simple patching issue. What you did was totally unnecessary.

You are Welcome. Enjoy!!
