TomTom Go 1000 software issue

Hi,
I have an opportunity to buy a tomtom go 1000 for £30 however it has a software bug.
When you power it on it says pause tool .ppt version 1101
then next line says start factory tools? and gives you button yes and no. Neither do anything.

Does anyone know if this is fixable? And is it worth buying the device or would you recommend getting different model?

Important note for new Tomtom models like VIA, Start20/25, Go1xxx - please read!

thanks for that. Saved me some money. Looks like ill continue using my phone for now :)
