Sony XA-NV400 Navigation Unit using TomTom Maps

Thu Aug 12, 2021 11:57 am

Hi everyone,

new here, but need to ask the question about this model as I can't see any info on this site about it.

I recently just bought a new, but dsicontinued [Please Register or Login to download file]
to attach to my Sony XAV-AX5000 Head unit.

It has a SD card with the Oceania maps on it. Sony support says (which I can't comprend why it wouldn't for professional responsibvilty reasons) that it does not update the maps.

I see this post talks about Sony XNV products that can't be updated, hacked etc, would this include the Sony XA-NV400?

I have a GO-510 with an external card, I have installed the Oceania maps to the external card to try copy them off to replace on the SD card, however the ToMTom memery card is full of tomtom files taking up the whole card when I look at it on the PC, would I need to use a linux PC to see the contents?

The contents of the Sony SD card is the following formated at FAT32:
Locations (folder)
LOST.DIR (folder)
Oceania_975.7769 (folder)
.nomedia (file)

Many thanks :)

Can anyone give me a bit more info if possible and confirm what the below information from the about screen on the nav unit.

I now have it up and running in the car. I'm not sure how these versions relate to the Navcore versions in the table for compatible maps or if it is more the nav3 info.

the main thing I want to know if the maps could be updatable with the below info with a unit that use Navkit, posible? hope so..

thanks again :)

Under System screen it has:
version: 2.30
it also says open source licences...
/kernel
/root/file_contexts
/root/init
.. etc

under About screen it has:
Serial number: 00000000000000000907415634546454684685455
Application Version: 2451471
Map name: Oceania
Map version: 975.7769
NavKit Version: 15.43.0.16
