navcore in the original set up was 7162/8492 did a fresh install and 1.6mb ram free and still sluggish

What's in your setconfig.txt file? That makes a huge difference.

If you are referring to saving RAM, the Outsource folder is a bigger player, than switchfiles.

Ok please double check you have thou Outsource folder in root of your device and use switchfiles to save some ram then come back wih your findings

Yes i just noticed, that package has the Outsourced folder.

@ combat goofwing , please extract the switchfiles.zip Config in your root and set up the files appropriatly

There is aTutorial here on how to set up the config folder / switchfiles , take a look at it, see if you can understand it all, if you get stuck just ask and i will give you further advise ;)

attached are the 3 config files i set up, not sure if theree how they should be

in your setconfig.txt + model.txt run a light emulation as megalos said above also delite "runcheck" no need for it

Model: is in the setconfig.txt file, so delete the model.txt file. Version.txt just creates a ttgo.bak file.
Also x40 is for 4.3" screens & x40light is for 3.5" screens.

its a 4.3 screen
deleted model text
tried x 40 light in set config still only 1.6mb ram and even slower now

You're sure the setconfig.txt is actually working? You can see this if you go to 'Version info' --> 'Copyright' --> 'Current Configuration'. What does it say there?

looked in there cant see anything that tells me what current config is, just in device info say 9.205.547817 os547200 (5007 2/7/2010) 32mb ram 2.2 mb free gpsv1.20 boot 5.3026
